For Old Time’s Sake: Kenyon Martin

(on the Nets)… KMart was a shot-blocking, freakishly athletic power forward at Cincinnati and then in New Jersey. He and Jason Kidd formed arguably the best tandem in the Eastern Conference in the early part of this decade, reaching the Finals in the 2002 and 2003 seasons, although never winning a title. Interestingly, Martin is the last college senior to be drafted #1 overall and that was back in 2000. Pretty nuts. While he’s still going strong in the league, his bouts with injuries have held him back. Still, KMart was the man once upon a time. RIM WRECKER.

1st Nets option: “Kidd is leading the break, pass to RJ, RJ shoots … wild miss but here’s come KMart for the putback !”

2nd Nets option: “”Kidd is leading the break, pass to Kittles, Kittles shoots … wild miss but here’s come KMart for the putback !”

on his draft: guaranteed top 5 pick
on another draft year: mid-late first round

without the Leg injuries, K-Mart woulda been Shawn Kemp part II

@pippen ante easy, u never watched Kenyon in college. U said he was a top 5 pick for his draft or mid 1st rounder for any other? Kenyon avg over 18, 9, and 2 and was the most feared player in the NCAA. He was drafted 1st with a broken leg and went on to become a 2004 all star scoring 24 in the all star game.

Kenyon was so good @ UC we beat St Louis by 40pts in the last regular season game and he sat out the last 5 min. We then drew St Louis for the 1st round of the conference tournament less then a week later. Kenyon got hurt in the 1st 10 min and we ended up losing to them. Tell me who else swings scores by 50pts?
