His handles are RIDICULOUS! I feel bad for those who have to guard him because he will embarrass you in a minute without any sympathy.

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

Didn’t realize the handles were like that. Dude doesn’t get to show all that for the Bulls.

  • http://dez@nba.com dez

this kids a beast, good Lord. who wouldn’t want to run next to that?

  • The D Train

Fair warning to all: my man-crush on Rose knows no bounds. I will be lighting up these boards with poetry and prose regarding his greatness when the new season arrives. If you think Eboy is all about Miami imagine if all that love was focused like a laser on a single player. That will be me this year.

  • http://slamonline.com GotHandles?

    hahahahaha @D Train

D-Rooooooose expose’n the weakness in foes crossing your ankles off his hitlist- explodes to the hole keeping ya on your heals and toes… Chicago’s finest, minus the drama- your highness is not in Miami…

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

I understand the man crush D Train even if I think your entire comment needed a “pause.”

  • mj23

D-Rose is lightning quick. I don’t think there are many guards that can keep up with him…He is an a bigger and stronger version of Iverson. Lebron u big dummy…U were supposed to have joined forces with D-Rose and the Bulls would have been the NBA champs once again.

  • JTaylor21

Dude is gonna have a astronomical 3rd season. His midrange game is already very good and dude is the best point guard at “Going Hard in The Paint”. Much love and respect to DRosenthal.

  • Sparker

the man-love for rose already knows no bounds, in spite of his limited achievements as an NBA player. i don’t get it, personally, but i’m obviously in a tiny minority. some guys just aren’t held up to the same standard.

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

He’s only played two years at the toughest position in the league. What was he supposed to do, win a championship?
Dude has the physical tools to be great, and he’s consistently improving his jumper and court sense. Outside of being lackluster on defense, everything looks good for him.

  • The D Train

Not sure what you’re referring to, Sparker. Rose is only considered the 4th or 5th best PG in the league in most circles. You’d be hard-pressed to find intelligent and unbiased NBA folk who don’t think he falls in somewhere behind Deron, Paul, Rondo and Nash (not sure if I’m forgetting someone else off the top of my head). He played the QB-position for a team with mid-level talent and took them to the playoffs 2 years in a row. And it’s not like he was being named All-NBA. He’s a one-time All-Star who is viewed as a young, dynamic PG, who is trying to force his way into the upper echelon. Not quite sure how that equates to him not being held to the same standards as other guys.

  • The Philosopher

    Looking really good.

  • http://shinefluid@aol.com CHI-TOWN SAID IT..

best pg in the league look out for him to get in mvp discussion

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

That’s my dude! Bet I’m the only cat in the whole state of Alaska with an autographed Derrick Rose jersey hanging on his wall. Got it signed by him last summer. Thinking I might need to make a trip to Juneau when Boozer comes up to have his basketball camp for kids so I can put up a signed Boozer Bulls jersey next to Rose’s. Like Kanye said – “Two words -Chi-town/ worldwide/ cause I/ rep that/ till I f*ckin’ die!”

  • mj23

I’d D-Rose over Chris Paul and deron williams anyday. Much more athletic, and a lot stronger than Paul. Playing on Team USA is defnitely going to help him this season, and watch out NBA cuz D-Rose is ready to dominate. D-rose is Iverson on steroids.

  • http://slamonline.com/ Adam Figman

if he finds a way to add the three-pointer that he’s working on this summer, run for cover.

He’s got size and skills and is a talent of his own. But, before making Iverson comparisons, let’s see how he holds up over the course of several season. He may very well become the next all-time great PG, if he maintains his health and speed etc, I could even see Isiah comparisons, but I’m not ready to give him that much credit yet.

  • Scottie Pimpin’

dee rose ! i better see some dee fense !

  • Jdubbs

Here’s the thing, that stuff will get us a few baskets at the World Championships, but its fundamentals and team play that will win us a championship.

We barely beat Spain with Lebron, Wade, and Kobe on the same team.

What do you think’s going to happen with our “B” Squad? We’re going to get smoked. That scrimmage was light in D and looked like the McDonalds All-Star game.

Nice AND-1 moves, Derrick, but that ish don’t play in international ball as well as you think it will.

  • damien

Im sorry Jdubbs but those moves will work from the projects to overseas. thats worldwide game and only a select few have it fam…..

  • http://google c_cantrell

man this dude does work.. im extremely excited to see what drose can do with his improved team

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

Why do people insist that it’s “fundamentals” that doom the USA instead of the fact that they typically only lose to talented teams who’ve been playing together for years and have some sort of awesome performance by an individual player.

  • Straight Shooter

DuDe is a Straight Baller always loved his game in 2 years add my Wiz John Wall to this discussion also the both of them will be tearing up the league….but right now Paul and D-Will are better pure point guards than D-Rose and J-Wall but their time will come.

  • TrailBlazing&SportingLisbon

LOVE his game, just think he needs a better J and improve that court vision, a franshise playa no doubt, just dont come here with the sh1t hes as good as DWade, CP or DWill

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

@TrailBlazing&SportingLisbon – Give him time. In two years, he might be.

  • http://www.threadsandkicks.com.au Eduardo

    that’s a cool vid!

  • http://shinefluid@aol.com CHI-TOWN SAID IT..

i dont think he is AS good as dwill anc cp i think he is BETTER and in 2 years he will be MUCH BETTER

  • Robb

    I love this guy

    jesus h christ

  • SpaceJam

D Rose is the 3rd best pg in the league. He’s better than rondo and nash. He’s said he’s got a consistent 3 so now, fear for nba defenses.. expect 23 9 and 5 this season. He guided to mediocre bulls teams to the playoffs. Now he’s got the talent around him for his stats to match his skills.

  • Klemperer

    This guy is ridiculously strong.

  • wolpack

this guy should try out for the triple jump olympics

  • James

I’m a fan of D-rose ever since I saw him play at memphis, this dude will take the spot as the best PG in the league this year and will certify his status as superstar this summer at the FIBA WC!

  • newzealanderinlondon

d-rose is friggin fast! i would give him a world of space and then rugby league tackle him!

  • http://www.laumol.nl/weblog Laumol

No reason why Bulls seasontickets aren’t also already sold out like Miami’s.

  • ConeyIslander

Derrick Rose is a young Stephon Marbury without the dementia.

  • Kundai

Damn i really wish bron and rose would have teamed up that would have been too nasty. nad the crossover was the tits.

  • tavoris

@Coneyislander-he’s already more successful than Marbury has ever been at this level. Rose is the truth.

  • richard

Here’s his full espn highlights from that game for those who are interested – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-EFQGn0PEKw&playnext=1&videos=GrVS1_em4M0

Rose is NOT Marbury. He’s on a whole other level. I think all this team USA play will only help his confidence and game.
