Video: Rudy Fernandez Reverse Alley Oop from Ricky Rubio

Spain got its first win Sunday against New Zealand, 101-84, thanks to Ricky’s 8 points, 11 dimes (game-high), and 3 steals (game-high) and Rudy’s 12 points (4-5 FG) and 12 boards (game-high).

    That’s all Fernandez is all. Athlecism. He’s got a nice three-point shot, but he tends to chuck it, he’s surprisingly unfundemental, needs the ball to really have an effect on the game but isn’t good enough to demand the ball. See how he disappears when Navarro and Rubio have the ball? Not a coincidence. He’s better suited to be a man on a FIBA team.

    And Spain is 1-2, especially because these 2 players have played very poorly compared to what was expected from them. Now Spain has to face the 2nd of group C (that is to say Greece unless they deliberately lose to Russia) and then the USA in quarter finals. I’d be glad if they could lose in the 1/8th because they’re so arrogant and cheating and complaining at the same time. For example the last 2 minutes against Lithuania they were clearly favored by the refs and still cried. In the end, they lost. Bwahaha. Get what you deserve.

    Rudy used to do this all the time when Sergio was still on my Blazers. Then we brought in Andre Miller, widely-known for his great lobbing skills, and yet they rarely connected on any alley-oops. It seems Rudy only trusts his fellow Spaniards in games and has great chemistry with any Spanish player, which is why he always kills in National play.

    rubio is terrible he is to slow and he cant dribble with his left and its not like that was a nice pass a blind man could throw that pass to rudy fernandez he has like a 40 inch vert just throw it by the rim and he’ll dunk it… everybody is hypin this kid up and when he gets to the league brandon jennings is gona light him up…

    @total scrotal: If you fail to take note of foreign players “until they’ve done something substantial”, you miss out on the Nashes, Parkers, and Ginobilis. By the same token, you could also avoid the Darkos and Yis.

    Rubio’s a ball player, you’re insane. He’s not a scorer, but he has great court vision and plays good defense. He’s not Derrick Rose or Brandon Jennings, but he’s a natural, pass-first point guard, and he’s capable of scoring.
