Video: Brad Beal – Best Shooter in 2011 Class

Here, we present the No. 7 player in the Class of 2011. Hands down, the 6-3 2-guard was U17 USA Basketball ‘s top player en route to an 8-0 World Championship run this summer. Often compared to Chauncey Billups and Eric Gordon (and Percy Miller as far as looks are concerned), Beal’s game isn’t flashy, but his fundamentals and outside accuracy are far more developed than most preps. Next season, Beal will be holding it down in Gainesville.

needs to improve his handles at 6-3, saw him in orlando against rivers and ben mclemore looked like the better long-term prospect

    He outscored Rivers, right Mike?

Rivers outscored him 24 to 12 and Each1Teach1 won the Super Showcase over his St. Louis Eagles. Both Rivers and Lacey outplayed Beal.

@mike, yeah but Beal got the better of Rivers at the Boo Williams

    … says Beal had 37, Rivers 34.

that was flashy enough for me

Ryne, two different tournaments mike was right they shut Beal down in the Orlando Super Showcase….Ben McLemore looked really good though

Looking forward to seeing McLemore at the HoopHall Classic with Oak Hill in January. Boo Williams and the Super Showcase are two different tournaments, kids.

    no left hand

  • Jelte

@Clayton – indeed, no left hand at all. At least, in this video (just once)

  • tavoris

his J is beautiful…he’s definitely gonna have to quicken that release a bit (or grow 3 inches) if it’s gonna be an asset for him.

i highly doubt he is the “best shooter in 2011 class,” def a nice smooth shot, but gurantee there is better shooters, he may be the best shooter with this kind of all around talent tho

Don’t knock him about his left hand… cuz at least he uses it… take a look at any mix from Austin rivers and he never uses his… but this kid is good but not better than rivers though IMO

Too short, and he dun have the handles and speed that Rivers has (and even HE needs to increase those to be a viable starter in the L).
I dunno if this kids gonna be as successful as people think.

sometimes the criticism I read on these websites about these kids are just ridiculous. “why he don’t use his left hand???”…c’mon dude have you ever asked yourself why you never see any NBA player using their left hand in their highlights??? “why he don’t got a stupid crazy crossover???” is that really what makes a basketball player? a crossover…what about ability to move off-ball and shoot off of screens, that does matter too right? because those are both things he does incredibly efficiently. lol

  • http://slamonline.com The Black Rick Kamla

@Jukai, he’s just as tall as Austin Rivers and is probably…not even probably he is definitely the better athlete. Like I said before, incredibly sneaky athlete- I’ve seen him drop on dudes heads a couple of times
