Slamadaday(s): Eric Gordon on Anderson, Duncan

The Clippers may have lost to the Spurs last night, but all anyone will (and should) recall are Gordon‘s aerial assaults:

    ill nasty

  • Nick

Ben Gordon is the most underrated player in the league. I’ll never get tired of saying that.

  • Nick

sorry, i was meant to say Eric :

  • Vinsanity

my outlook on eric gordon has changed significantly

  • http://slamonline.com Krishan

They need to trade baron away and put the ball more on gordon’s hands. He looks like dwade lite with better outside shooting. LAC needs to wake up.

  • T-Money

Just trade Boom Dizzle, he’s just holding them cats back. Sekou Smith made an interesting analogy: the Clips are like the Cavs when Bron got there. Ricky Davis had to go for Bron to truly take over the team (it’s crazy how much power seniority gets you in the NBA, Gil had stories about Chucky freaking Atkins bossing him around and calling his own number when he was a rook). Griffin, Gordon and Kaman are three legit starters on a contending team, let’s roll with that core.

ALARMING athleticism, you’d really never have any clue he had that in him but this is how he’s been since high school, sneaky athlete. Big time first step and as we se here big time hops.

  • http://slamonline.com The Black Rick Kamla

lol, he been playing with a mean streak these first few games….breaking ankles…slammin on heads…ridiculous, I agree with Krishan, if Baron isn’t in physical shape to compete just turn the reigns over to EG

  • stokesey

Rediculous is all i can think of… If anything the Clippers will be fun too watch this season, Should be at least a .500 ballclub this year… but this is the clippers im talking about, so who knows.

  • http://slamonline.com The Black Rick Kamla

Randy Foye, Baron Davis, Eric Gordon…..those have to be 3 of the hugest (as far as weight/bulk) 6 footers in the league

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

Eric Gordon is nice, but I hate watching the Clippers play. They play some of ugliest basketball in the league, easily. No team cohesion, very little hustle. I hope they don’t ruin Blake Griffin’s soul.

    BUNNIES!

  • http://slamonline.com The Black Rick Kamla

@Allenp I really think they should have hired Mike Woodson….he’s at least shown the ability to impart a culture of winning in a franchise…Vinny hasn’t done anything…..either way if they can’t find some way to gel they will just be a team of many talented pieces who accomplish nothing…Clipper way I guess

  • The Philosopher

Joe Dumars with “hops”, and without the refined point guard skills.

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

    Philo
Eric Gordon doesn’t really play like Joe.
    Black rick
I can’t understand how neither Mike Woodson or Mike Brown got a look out there. Yes, they aren’t good at offense, but as you noted, both of them have excelled at gettng teams to build unity and play defense. That’s the first step to respectability. Vinny has done neither.

too bad he has more TOs than dunks EVERY GAME

  • robb

being a Clipper must be so frustrating, I mean, they have some pretty talented players but something never clicks. Go to San Diego or something.

  • http://google c_cantrell

man i hope they trade griffin.. he would be so nice on a team like the thunder

  • http://www.thehoopscene.com thehoopscene

why do u give these guys credit, but not me for curry’s ankle broken video?

  • The Philosopher

    Allen:
I should have said that he has Joe “tendencies” as far as his jumpshot is concerned. Then there is the height.
Then there is his ability to get hot and carry an offense for an extended stretch.
A better comparison, and this one is good, is Byron Scott.

  • http://mail.google.com Jayo

The Clippers need to get Jrue Holiday at the point and a better wingman like Iguodala. This trade should do the trick.

  • Towelie

    Nasty.

  • http://dsjfklf.com Jukai

Wha? How does Eric Gordon play like Joe Dumars? One of the weirder comparisons I’ve heard. Reminds me of the awful Kevin McHale/Kevin Love comparisons

  • Shadojoker

whoa..i spitted my cereal all over my computer when i saw those dunks..Way to represent Indiana Eric Gordon!!

  • The Philosopher

    Jukai:
I was off on that one.
    Not “that” off, though.
He has a little Dumars in him. Gordon is just more athletic.
He can handle the ball, though he is not featured at point guard. He is more Byron Scott than Dumars, but Dumars is not entirely off. He has some of his tendencies.

Probably my favorite player to come out of that loaded 2008 draft. I still say 2009 was the better draft though.

  • T-Money

philo: sorry man, he has zero joe d in his game. none.

  • sample

DeAndre jordan’s reaction was funny, he was running to the bench to get a glimpse of ej’s dunk on the jumbotron! man that was nasty!

  • http://bigringg.com Johnny

Duncan and Anderson should thanks to Ginobili who gave Gordon both oportunities.

  • http://ballislife.com Stephon
