Video: Steve Blake Off the Glass to Pau Gasol

Pau Gasol had a big night, and his triple-double assisted the Lakers in their easy W over Portland last night. This off-the-glass alley-oop from Steve Blake only helped the cause.

Probably wrong to say it but Jeezy did so I will too. All white everything.

    Shout out to Jason Kidd.

Hey did Lamar just walk away from that shaking his head? “Man, these white boys huh?” Probably not but it’d be funny if he did lol

  • JTaylor21

The most useless oop in the history of oops.

Tzvi lol…..that joint kinda went though….they definitely put a vanilla twist on the off the glass alley oop lol, gotta love it

  • MikeC.

I wonder if Steve ever wonders how good Blake Griffin would have made him look if he’d stayed with the Clips. There’s also the thought that the Clippers-Curse would have killed him at some point during the season.

    they gonna be 82-0

  • unrel

yes.. it was kind of ‘white’.. but the lakers dropped bombs on portland..

  • mike

Pau for Kwame….what a great and fair trade…

  • riggs

that was the most gangly and awkward oop in bball history.

    what the hell lol

  • TrailBlazing&SportingLisbon

blazers should be fu(kin embaressed with that blowout

  • T-Money

Lol there’s something about Pau Gasol dunking that makes me chuckle every time. It always looks a bit awkward. His game is nothing to joke about though. Me and my friends have been calling his dunks “euro-dunks”, where you sorta flip it in and graze the rim with your fingertips.

Pau shoulda done the same for Lamar! A triple-oop!!

  • jose

i swear LA has just downplayed everygame until half way through the 3rd quarter…ppl think miami can get 72….i’d give Showtime a better chance, this is coming from a heat fan that despises the Lakers

Steve Blake is a cool guy. Known him for a long time – he is pretty business-like, but I guess that’s why he is in the NBA and we’re sitting somewhere watching the NBA. Regardless, nice pass Steve. Its one thing to do that in a pick-up game, another to do it at the Staples Center with Phil as your coach while balling for the Lakers.

@MikeC: I think we can assume the Clippers are probably the last thing on Steve Blake’s mind

    wdf is this?

  • permaculture james

seems like a nice way to pad your assist column and make your big man love you more.

this is still the best off the backboard oop of all-time:

I LOVE that Blake threw that pass. @davidR-problem with your first dunk is that it was preseason, which loses some impact. Ironic thing about your second dunk (kidd to marion) is that it was over…Steve Blake!

actually I have some confusion on the off-the-backboard thing. Does it count as an assist or as a shot attempt / rebound? I propose the league to hand out T’s for stunts like this while we figure this out.

  • http://www.need4sheed.com Tarzan Cooper

Melvin, im pretty sure its a missed fg and a rebound. … And I see lakers are enjoying their cupcake schedule

  • http://www.triplejunearthed.com/dacre Dacre

    hmmm cupcakes.

  • T-Money

    tarzan: nope, assist.

  • Jon Riggs

i wish shannon brown got the pass

  • Mel Murphy

shannon brown on the break would’ve been sick. Pau barely even has to jump for it. Reminds me of “White Man Can’t Jump” lol

  • Towelie

Earl: Pau shoulda done the same for Lamar! A triple-oop!!

@Earl: That would have been awesome.

  • http://thephotoriot.com davidR

true, it being pre-season there wasn’t much pressure. maybe i should re-word it as the flashiest backboard oop

  • horsey

remember when bob sura missed a layup on purpose to get his first career triple double the year he retired and the league took it away because it “wasn’t a legitimate shot attempt?” i think that rule makes this an assist while, if the world were fair, bob would be among the few players to assist to themselves…

  • http://slamonline.com The Black Rick Kamla

Lakers first loss will be against an Eastern Conference team, seems nobody out West can figure them out at the moment

  • http://kb24.com DreXnaW21

@Earl LOL wow a Triple Oop? that’s a good one

  • http://www.fiba.com Darksaber

Has there ever been a triple-oop in the L (without the use of trampolines)? That would be orgastic!
