Slamadaday: Jeremy Pargo on Mirza Begic

Jeremy Pargo’s crossover alone was nasty, but damn… the former Gonzaga Bulldog’s flush on Zalgiris’ 7-2 center was even better. Maccabi’s 71-68 win guaranteed them a place in the Euroleague Top 16. From BallinEurope: “A new leader in hyperbole may have emerged in the wake of Jeremy Pargo’s play for Maccabi Tel Aviv last night in the 71-68 squeaker over Žalgiris Kaunas. Pargo was just 4-of-9 in overall shooting for Maccabi, but it was the former ’Zag’s half-closing jam that captured the fancy of YouTube poster “NCAAchannel” enough to elicit the question “#1 Euroleague Play of All-Time?” Such a query is evidence of not having watched too too much Euroleague ball at all, but Pargo certainly did put in quite the sweet two points to give Maccabi a 35-34 halftime lead in Lithuania.”

  • http://www.google.com/news BETCATS

I wish the Bobcats wouldve kept him and let Sherron Collins go over seas.

  • LB

Wow! This guy reminds me of Will Bynum with the same stocky build, nasty handle and hops. I believe Will Bynum balled overseas too before he signed with the Pistons. Come to think of it, I think both dudes are from the Chi. Pargo definitely has a place in the league, for sure- it’s just a matter of time for a roster spot to open up for him.

  • http://slamonline.com/ Ryne Nelson

Might be better than his bro in NOLA.

  • http://slamonline.com The Black Rick Kamla

@LB coincidently Pargo is playing for the same team Will Bynum played for during his stint in Israel. Yeah, no reason dude shouldn’t be in the league IMO. Was always one of my favs at Gonzaga

  • PlanetAsia14

D@mn… I loved him when he was a Zag, hopefully he comes back overseas soon… Would love seeing him in a Lakeshow jersey (or just an NBA jersey for that matter.)

I.L.L! Screamed when i saw this happen live.
What’s so fascinating about this particular EL-season has been the roster switcheroos! A bucketload of top euro-players have switched among the top teams, it’s jarring!
Big Schortsanitis in Tel Aviv, Nielsen & Spanoulis in Olympiakos, Javtokas in Valencia, Mccaleb and Lavrinovic, it goes on and on.

  • HSDO-High school drop out

Man! I wonder which player feels worse. The one that got crossed or the one that got dunked on.

  • http://staticseth.blogspot.com Seth

WTF, on the close up of the replay the camera is wobbling all over the place, looking into the stands, etc. Great way to follow the action, camera man…

@HSDO-High school drop out: Man I would go on record saying the guy who got crossed feels much worse than the guy getting dunked on..cause that ankle breaker put Iverson’s crossover on Antonio Daniels to shame!!

still that whole highlight was sick!! dude DESERVES to be in the League!!

  • http://www.google.com Larsylad

My English isn’t filthy enough for this dunk.

  • Raeniel

If Pargo pulled that in the NBA, the crowd and bench would have gone wild. The crowd barely even budged in Europe. WEAK

  • James

what makes this highlight even sicker is the clock says 2OT(second overtime)…. that was a game winning dunk!

  • JD

To q bout being the best Euroleague play of all time:No i’m pretty sure there have been better plays than that not to say this isnt nasty.

    That was tite as !!

I don’t even have the word to describe this. You don’t even see these kind of plays in the Nba that much.

OR MAYBE IT WAS 2QT aka second quarter and that was a dunk right before halftime?

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

Oh sh!t, I just got Jeremy confused with Janero. I think I’ve had them confused with the other since… Well okay, until now. I’ve always liked Janero though. Never heard of Jeremy..

  • http://slamonline.com/ Ryne Nelson

@Yesse, I thought the same thing. This DOESN’T happen in Europe!

  • mars

sh!T was so ridiculous! Buddy that got crossed was still tryna get up when Jeremy POGO was taking off. So fresh. Thanks SLAM.

  • tavoris
