Jeremy Tyler: Nate McMillan is a College?

Jeremy Tyler was in Portland for a pre-draft workout on Thursday and was asked about Blazers coach Nate McMillan. “Nate McMillan,” he said. “No … What college is that?” For the record, Tyler has been pretty well-spoken and relaxed during the whirlwind of cities, workouts, interviews leading up to the Draft. It has to be easy to have a mental lapse.

He also hopes to play with one of the most dominant players out there. That dude Brigham Young.

The way I interpreted his quote was as him thinking they were asking him about another prospect and he was asking what college “Nate McMillan” was from. Could be wrong though.

I hope Enigmatic’s right. Because this is both funny and sad to me at the same time.

These kids do get asked a gazillion questions and make a gazillion stops, and it’s a whirlwind to them, and mistakes do happen.
Don’t know why, but this reminded me of when Obama was on the campaign trail, and he said something about how he had visited 57 states, and everyone (well, the conservatives mostly) beat him up for it.
But I mean, dude meant 47 states and if you had visited 47 states in a short period of time, and everyone and their moms were asking you questions at each stop, you’d be liable to f*ck up too.
Alls I’m saying is, we who have never had the pleasure of being involved in such things can’t judge people who have too harshly.

And that’s the last time I will EVER compare Jeremy Tyler to Barack Obama.
    Lol.

reminds of the time when the NBA expanded to Toronto and Vancouver; a reporter asked Penny Hardaway if he knew where Vancouver was. Penny answered something along the lines of “… not too sure. Somewhere in northern California?”

  • Ronald

Meh. Just a silly mistake. It’s not like someone asked him who is Barack Obama. It’s just freaking Nate McMillan.

  • All Day

This guy was working out for Portland and didn’t know who Nate McMillan was. Rule of thumb…if you’re going to workout for a team, at least know the name of the head coach. Come on, son!

    looooool.
@ Ronald, Where is Barack Obama college?

  • hushabomb

Maybe Lebron can go to “Barack Obama College” and learn to open up a can of whoop ass. Like he did when he authorised the hit on Osama…….

  • Brandon

  • MikeC.

And this is exactly why he shouldn’t have gone pro after his junior year of high school.

  • NDAx92

Is this the same Jeremy Tyler that dropped out of high school to go play professional ball overseas?

It is? Well now I can understand why he would think Nate McMillan is a College smh.

Many of these kids have no sense of NBA History today.
In the world of basketball, Nate McMillan’s name is a prominent name. He’s coached the Olympics, and everything.
How in the hell doesn’t Tyler know who Nate McMillan is?
Then, he tries to save face by acting like he knows who he is. smh
