Video: The LeBron James Lockout Mix

LBJ’s best plays of the past few months.

It’s no secret that LeBron James had a crazy summer. With the NBA locked out, he participated in charity games all across the country, while still finding the time to shoot commercials and work out with his homies. Check out his offseason highlights above, courtesy of Hoop Mixtape.

Makes basketball look so easy smh

  • Rik Smits Mullet

Pure Power. Still my favorite player.
Hope he gets his ring this year.

  • http://www.angryblacklady.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/lebron-waaaah.jpg Krisjanis

3 Jumpshots, 2 assists and a lot of dunks. really ‘the best player’ right now haha

@BigFuture37, I totally agree! Say what you like about LeBron James, just never say he’s not an amazing basketball player.

  • b. angus

yeah, i hope james gets his ring…it just sucks that bosh will get one 2 lol

  • Fade

@krisjanis, i just want to say that those were exhibition games to keep the fans entertained. Just wondering do you play ball? Cause, like LeBron, thats all I would do. If I played with amateurs, I’ll dominate and dunk on them every single time.
But, if you dont play basketball and all you do is read articles or watch youtube videos, then I can see why you’d make that comment.

  • Do Work

@fade but this mixtape shows every play that lebron made in every single game he played this summer…lol not even close. way to call out that idiot above

  • robb

    über athlete

  • http://slamonline.com tealish

The mic guy at the end annoys me, lol. “WE SAW IT LEBRON, WE SAW IT!” x about 100.

    Yes. He’s Ready !!

  • AD

lebron still be on his illuminati stuff

  • dfrance21

I was at the game in Baltimore(green jersey) and to see him do some of these things live is truly amazing. Scary to think he used to jump a little higher when he was slimmer.

  • fruizm

@fade….i think more than 50% of the people that comment on basketball related stuff on the web have never played a single game of organized basketball at least…

    @fruizm, I’d say 80%!
@Fade, Don’t feed the trolls, “@krisjanis” Must have not seen the same video OBVIOUSLY. lol

  • Jono

Nobody wanna make this man angry!

  • Jono

@Fade is there a thumbs up button for your first comment?

  • RoG23

@DEKNOWZ dont forget to throw in the percentage of lebron haters…

  • http://www.offthebackboard.wordpress.com OTB

That sequence at :50 was amazing. Hate the guy, but entertaining player.

  • slamfan4life

and there he throws them 6′s

    lol hes so good…

  • http://www.slamonline.com Chubachuchi

He can still jump high but he definitely lost some bounce he should lay off the iron a little bit lol.

i know Chubachuchi Lebron is not a C or PF, so he needs to stop increasing his muscles. 240 is more than fine. but 250 to 275 is a bit much

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

He was 265 as a rookie.

  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ys6VpgI9BHA datkid

chubachuchi idk man… i def. just saw him get his head at the rim. he’s been talking about conserving his legs a lot and these are exhibition games so I don’t think he’s trying to jump that high you know? nobody can stop him and there’s no defense anyway so why not just jump the minimum height?

  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ys6VpgI9BHA datkid

now granted that’s very hard to do, but I just think he’s taking it easy in a lot of these and has been in terms of jumping for a while (last season) after all when you’re lebron james it’s not THAT hard to dunk.

  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ys6VpgI9BHA datkid

    @nbk… jesus really?

anyway all I’m saying is that when you’re lebron james it’s probably fairly easy for you to just dunk.. you don’t have to put your head above the rim every time.

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

yeah, he has been listed at 265 since his rookie year. Well pre-draft he was 6’7.25″ (without shoes) and 245lb’s. By the start of the next season he was listed at 265, and the listing hasn’t changed since. Every interview I have read since then has said he is a minimum of 6’8″ (without shoes) and 275lb’s. I would wager he’s closer to 280 now. Which is a terrifying number for an athlete like that.

  • http://SLAMONLINE.COM LakeShow

^No. He’s 265 at most right now. Most likely closer to 250. Al Harrington is 260. Corey Maggette is 225. Dwight Howard is 265. What makes you think LbJ weighs that much? Theres no way a dude can be that “small” and weigh 280…

  • http://Slamonline.com nbk

Small? I’m not unsure of if he is heavier than 265, that is an absolute fact.

  • http://Slamonline.com nbk

He’s bigger than Al Harrington, and Dwight is extra big up top. Not really everywhere. And he’s only an inch or two taller than bron.

dwight is listed at 6’10. so only 2in

  • http://Slamonline.com nbk

Their “listed” heights and weights on ESpN and NBA are always wrong. Always. They just put what the teams or players want them too. LeBron is 6’8″ 250 according to NBA(.Com). That’s is literally his pre-draft height and weight. You have to be crazy blind or stupid to argue LeBron hasn’t gained more than 5 pounds since 2003. Dwight’s pre-draft weight was 240lb’s, his weight has been updated, but still, that guy has only gained 25 pounds since 04?

  • http://Slamonline.com nbk

Dwight height was 6’9.25″ pre-draft, btw

  • http://SLAMONLINE.COM LakeShow

LbJ doesn’t look any bigger than Melo. Muscle weighs more than fat, but there’s no way LbJ has 30 pounds more muscle and fat than Melo. I’ll go for 265, but he must be below that during the playing year. Just stay away from that 280lb claim and i’m happy.

  • http://Slamonline.com nbk

Lol why do you think Melo’s weight is right? I bet he ways 250+

Melo is all fat so i believe it loool

  • Enigmatic

LeBron was 6’8″, 240 in high school.
    In HIGH SCHOOL, people.
    That’s just crazy.

  • http://SLAMONLINE.COM LakeShow

I’m just going off of myself and my friends. I know one dude that is real big. Semi-pro weightlifter big, and he is 6’8″ and sits around 260. It just surprises my that LbJ could manage to hide this muscle mass. It seems very stupid for a perimeter player to be that big also. It holds no great service for one to be 280 pounds and be a point forward.

  • Enigmatic

It’s not like the muscle mass is effecting his speed much.
I mean, he’s able to either run around defenders or run right through them.
    Where’s the stupidity in that?

  • http://SLAMONLINE.COM LakeShow

Ya, at 260lbs it’s not effecting him much. But this elusive 280lb Bigfoot King James that nbk is talking about I don’t know about him being able to run around defenders being 20 pounds shy of Shaq lol…

  • http://cnbc.com JTaylor21

I’m not so sure about Bron tipping the scales at 280, he’s probably around 255. Remember, Malone allegedly used to weigh around 265 and he’s bulkier than Bron. Dwight has to be around 280-285 because the way he looked as a 2nd or 3rd year player compared to right now is night and day.

  • http://www.offthebackboard.wordpress.com OTB

I’d say he’s probably around 270 lbs. According to Chris Ballard, “He came into the league in 2003 weighing 240 pounds and is listed at 250 in this year’s media guide, but that number is clearly low. There are whispers that he goes 265; one report recently had him at 274.That said, a Cavs source puts James’s weight “between 265 and 270″ (remember, this is in 2009).

  • http://Slamonline.com nbk

280 is more than likely high, but I’m sure he lands between 265-280 if you put him on a scale. No way has he only gained 10-15 pounds since he was 18. He’s night and day bigger.

  • http://cnbc.com JTaylor21

The reason why I say 280 is highly unlikely is because there’s no way he weighed 240 coming out of HS, that means he was slightly bigger than Melo is right now. I find that hard to believe. He was probably around 230-235 as a rook, so putting on only 30 pounds sounds more reasonable. I think people really underestimate what seems like adding on 5-10 measly pounds can do to a person’s build. I used to be a skinny cat most of my life but recently I started going hard in the gym and put on 15 extra pounds. I look like a totally different human being.
So, if you think Bron weighs 280 then Karl Malone must have weighed around 290-295.

  • http://slamonline.com Tae

Bron gotta be 260 n Melo is not fat

  • http://Slamonline.com nbk

JTaylor, factually, without shoes on, he was 245 in pre-draft measurements. I’m not approximating, that’s what he weighed. You can look it up from multiple sources.

  • greg

dwight is actually over 280 now, they had to weigh him on sports science to calculate how much force he generated when he jumped for them

  • http://slamonline.com The Philosopher

This is The King, my brethren. It does not matter. His height, weight, wing span. Nothing. This kid is the greatest specimen the League has ever seen. (Shaq, arguably as well) He’s a lean Larry Johnson.
On TOP of all of that, THE KING… is THE most naturally gifted player to ever play in the NBA.
    Has NEVER been coached.
Has lost a step AND at least an inch off his vertical. (although again, it doesn’t matter)
He’s STILL the best player in The League.
    Suspect post game.
    Killer instinct is questioned.
STILL the greatest player on the planet, an all time great, and a sure fire, first ballot Hall of Famer.
And, there were people who openly questioned his impact on the Game AFTER he would lose a step.
    Well, here he is.
    AFTER the lost step.

  • http://Slamonline.com nbk

    ^ exactly

  • http://Slamonline.com nbk

That was too Greg. I haven’t read Philo’s rant yet

  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ys6VpgI9BHA datkid

i’ve never believed that lost a step/can jump less high nonsense. he didn’t use to be able to guard derrick rose… now he can. you can’t do that “after losing a step”

  • DukeFromDeep

    @ Philo
Keep that s**t in perspective man. What has LBJ done? I mean ever. Two finals attempts and zip. MVP’s, who cares? Nash won MVP…

  • http://www.optimabbc.be Max

    DukeFromDeep obviously doesnt know Philo..

  • greg

datkid doesnt realize defense is not only about athletic ability, bruce bowen and shane battier can guard people much quicker than they are because they understand angling spacing, where help comes from, and reading the ball handler. Lebron may have lost a very small ammount of explosiveness not that it matters, but he has gained so much in the area of technique and experience, the all defensive team was no joke in lebrons case. jason terry still J’d in his face though .
