Video: DeAndre Jordan, Blake Griffin React to CP3 News

Blake: “It’s going to be lob city.”

DeAndre Jordan gets “the call” while at a Clippers event at a Los Angeles elementary school. Then, he and Blake Griffin get very excited. And a cameo from Caron Butler, who may very soon be welcomed to L.A.’s starting lineup.

Won’t the Clippers be screwed if CP doesn’t resign when his contract is up?

  • http://www.slamonline.com PapaDuck

that’s not cool. they must not like gordon

  • #6marjons

@Max he has agreed to opt in for a second year

  • Will Lee

i feel bad for Eric Gordon, he’s the up and coming scorer, great defender, nice guy.

  • http://www.streetbasket.lv Krisjanis

When I play 2k on xbox I always pick EG over CP3..dunno it if was worth it.

  • http://google c_cantrell

It is sad to see Eric Gordon end up on a less desirable team after he helped shoulder the load for the clips all last season but he now has a greater oppurtunity to prove his value to other teams. I don’t feel that he will be in a Hornets uni all season. There are too many teams who are looking for a young, quality shooting guard.

It’s more than understandable that they’re happy CP3′s coming, but EG and others just got traded. I know’s it’s a business but I was expecting some form of ‘sadness’, atleast from Blake.

  • wolf

I think blake only knew that cp3 was coming to the clippers and not that eric gordon was being traded.

  • http://itsahardwoodlife.blogspot.com omphalos

“who did we give up?… I don’t care!” Blake clearly just happy to have CP3.

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

They did not seem sad to see Eric Gordon go.

  • Trout

That is kinda foul cos in this day an age with the cameras and more to the point camera phones that you have to be careful what you say. By all accounts Eric Gordon was really upset about leaving and handled it with poise and dignity which can not be said about Blake Griffin at least Jordan had the common sense / decency to try and avoid the cameras as much as possible. Poor show on Griffins part.

  • bike

Blake’s just excited that he will break last year’s ESPN highlight appearence record.

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

So I started an association with the Clips, and the Hornets offered me Eric Gordon and Willie Green for Mo Williams, Eric Bledsoe, and a 1st round pick…..

  • Bojangles

I’m sure Blake was just putting on a front. He couldn’t wait to get home to light some candles, draw a bubble bath and have a little cry while listening to “My heart will go on”. Must be tough to be a high flying big and lose your trigger happy SG for a top 25 point guard(all time). Sad day.

  • http://www.optimabbc.be Max

    nbk, LOL!

  • IAMORANGE4EVER

Blake saying “I don’t care” when asked who the Clippers gave up to get Chris Paul, was obvioulsy a mistake on his part while being extremely excited over the news of Chris Paul becoming his teammate.

  • slamfan4life

    Blake…ouchh lol

  • Keith250

Blake wasn’t talking to DeAndre when he said that so who knows what he meant. Also, I think he said, “We don’t care.”

  • IAMOANGE4EVER

^ Make no mistake, Blake Griffin said out loud, “I don’t care,” when the question was asked about who the Clippers gave up to get Chris Paul. Blake didn’t care as long as the Clippers got Chris Paul it was going to be LOB CITY! lol

  • IAMORANGE4EVER

  • http://slamonline.com The Black Rick Kamla

    Clippers don’t deserve Chris Paul…..and I don’t care if I sound like a scorned female…

  • http://shinefluid@aol.com yada

look man i love eric gordon but where the hell the clippers go with him in the past 3 years? cpe who nearly beat the lakers by himself is now playing with another superstar and good players around him. CMON SON LOL clippers HAD to go for it!! for the 1st time ever they got a shot. THIS is going to be EXCITING!!! and i guarantee all you cant wait to watch them

  • http://nbasobrietystrike.blogspot.com/ CoolWhip

    Baaahahaaha @ bojangles
Ya, Blake clearly wasn’t an Eric Gordon/Chris Kaman/Al Farouq-Aminu fan.
Everyone’s value goes up during trades. People mourning Gordon, and over-valuing Paul. But seriously, good trade for both sides.
Especially if New Orleans gets a healthy Kaman.

  • bike

What’s the problem with Blake saying ‘I don’t care’. If he didn’t like the guy or didn’t like playing with the guy and his new teamate is the best PG in the league, why should he care?

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

He said i don’t care before he even heard who was involved. What if Deandre Jordan the guy he was talking to was involved. lol, Blake’s “i don’t care” would have been extra hurtful i bet.

  • Drunyce

People have wild imaginations. When Griffin said “We don’t care”; he was responding to somebody else NOT Jordan. SMH….

  • IAMORANGE4EVER

    Kobe’s Ship His Arse Out > Blake’s I Don’t Care

  • What?

He said we dont care when the chick said you’re on camera…

  • Sean B

Who cares if Blake Griffin is not “sad” to see Eric Gordon leave? Are they related? Did they play in college together? Hell do they even communicate with each other off of the basketball court?

Too many times people expect players to be the best of friends simply because they are teammates.

  • http://www.slamonline.com House

I am pretty sure that BG who comes across as a down to earth person would not be so crass about an excellent teammate such as Eric Gordon leaving the Clips, think about it people.

  • annabananas

Blake was clearly saying We don’t care to the people talking behind him about them needing to get out of the street. People overreact to everything these days.

  • Dr. DL

Come on guys this is way over-sensationalizing the “we don’t care” comment. He clearly was not saying it in response to any information about the trade and certainly not about Eric Gordon specifically. Some girl said “you guys are on camera” and he said “we don’t care”. He even said it in a silly mock-growl voice. Everyone here is acting like he made some pointed statement directly about Gordon; that is clearly not the case. Of course those two are excited, they are high-flying big men who just found out they’ll be playing with the best PG in the league. Remember how many alley-oops Chandler got in NO? That’s what they have to look forward to and they know it. They should be excited. It sucks to lose Gordon because he is a rapidly improving, highly valuable SG, but they managed to hold onto Bledsoe somehow and Butler makes Aminu expendable so the Clippers are rapidly becoming a team to beat in the West. Blake knows that and was responding in kind. Let’s not pretend it was anything more than that.

  • IAMORANGE4EVER

Wow, why are people trying to change what Blake Griffin said? You shouldn’t care…just like he didn’t care about who got traded for Chris Paul. LOL! And by the way nbk, DeAndre Jordan can’t be traded by the Clippers after they matched that offer. I believe there is still a 30 day waiting period for teams to trade players signed during free agency.

  • http://nyill.wordpress.com Enigmatic

    SMH.
You can CLEARLY hear a woman (most likely a Clippers employee of some sort. Publicist or something) say to Griffin and Jordan “guys, we’re blocking traffic. Can we not stand on the road?”
And then Griffin turns to her and says “We don’t care” obviously too excited about the trade to care about such trivial things as safety.
But people always wanna create drama.

  • IAMORANGE4EVER

    @Enig We don’t care!

  • http://nyill.wordpress.com Enigmatic

LOL I walked into that one

  • Sleepyfloyd

I like the trade except for the Eric Gordon part. Giving up Eric Gordon made the Clippers the losers of this trade for me. They could have given up Bledsoe and the pick but not EG. In my mind with Blake, EG and CP3, they are championship contenders. Blake and Chris Paul aren’t enough. They are going to miss EG.

  • Arne

@PapaDuck and IAMORANGE4EVER , hoooo, slow with the conclusions there. Griffin was responding to the “ur blocking traffic” stuff and Jordan moved away while asking “for who”?. He didnt want to say anything to that in front of the camera and I’m sure he wanted to know if Gordon is about to stay or not. and I bet he wasnt too happy about hearin he’ll be gone.
actually Griffin asked “for who” first. So he obviously was interested. Why would he ask “for who?”, then turn around and scream “we dont care!”???
sry for wrong english, I’, from germany.

  • Arne

BLAKE RESPONDED TO THE WOMAN sayin “ur blocking traffic”. he was excited and wanted her to stfu nao.

  • Arne

BLAKE WAS RESPONDING TO THE WOMAN saying “u’r blocking traffic” at 0:31.
