  The play was designed exactly how it played out, with Deng as the first option. Noah hadn’t played the entire 4th quarter but was put into the game to get the ball at the top of the key specifically because he’s a great passer and can see over the top of the defense. Its not a coincidence that Deng is the inbounder and Rose is setting a screen for him. Deng is the first option and if it wasn’t there, then you give it to Rose and let him create something on his own. Ugly game for the Bulls but they pulled it out when it counted.

  Diesel, Thibs himself said the plan was to get the ball to Rose, but Noah saw he had two defenders on him so he passed it to Deng instead.

  I think the play was to throw the ball directly in to Rose, second option is Deng off the backscreen, third is Rose on the hand off. If you look at Noah, he doesn’t even try to get Rose the ball, he’s eyeing that pass to Deng the whole time.

  Of course Thibs is going to say that. You think he wants to let other teams know his thought process? Everyone keep thinking Rose is always going to get the ball so you fall for a similar play down the line.

  I know stations want to promote their local team, but why do they think fans want their commentators to be insane homers? We want good, quality commentating, not fake yelling and screaming to get us amped on EVERY shot our team makes… I actually prefer watching my teams play away games.

  … I assume stacey king’s tone in the eastern conference finals was monotone, sad and boring… right? I hate homer announcers period. Stacey king is the kind of announcer i hate with a passion though. why? they are OBNOXIOUS like crazy with it. Same with the blazers, celtics announcers. just completely loud obnoxious homer commentators that complain like crazy about the home team reffing and say absolutely nothing when the away team is getting the short end of the stick. just had to say that… on to the game. just an excellent play drawn up by thibs. rose was killing the whole 4th Q so to use him as a decoy for deng was brilliant. just pure execution there. great pass by noah as well.

  Bad defense by Joe Johnson, looks like he try to deny d pass to D.Rose or double him allowing Deng d easy cut back door. J.Smith is tall and athletic enough to guard Rose. Good play by d Bulls tho.
