Video: Paul George With the Sick Reverse Dunk

The Pacers get a W and a great highlight.

In the first quarter of Tuesday night’s Nets-Pacers tilt, Deron Williams put Indy big man Roy Hibbert on a poster, and so Paul George might have felt the need to take some of the negative attention away from his teammate by putting on a bit of a show of his own. And when Lance Stephenson dished him the rock in the open court, he did just that. This looks more like something out of a Slam Dunk Contest than an actual game. Not bad, PG. Not bad at all.

    That was sick!

  • http://nyill.wordpress.com Enigmatic

Not to sound jaded, but D Rose does that like every other game.

Damn…Enigmatic, you had to go there.
Not to sound jaded but that was better than Rose’s.

  • Shleezy

Yep. Looks way better than Rose. Longer Arms. Longer Torso. Sicker Dunk.

  • Youngindy21

Put this man in the Dunk Contest. ASAP.

  • Timshel

I’m so happy the NBA is back!

Man, after all the crazy contact dunks during the last couple days, a breakaway just doesn’t look as impressive. Not hating on Paul George – this would be a great dunk any other week.

    Y’alls opinions.
A 6’2″ guy doing this will always be more impressive than a 6’8″ guy.
Where I will give George his props tho is he jumped from much further away from the basket than Rose does.

  • logues

this was pretty, mainly cuz he jumped pretty far away and it looked so smooth! Enigmatic: this was better than rose’s… rose usually comes to almost a stop and goes straight up with his, george’s was farther out and he floated in to the hoop making it more difficult, and much more pretty looking. that was real nice

you dont see these type of dunks anymore, in games..

  • http://nyill.wordpress.com Enigmatic

Logues – yeah, after watching it two more times and trying my damn hardest to forget George plays for the Pacers lol, I admit it was impressive he took off from that far away.
Rose still comes harder tho (pause!)

    ^that’s what she said

Should the height of the rim be raised? It’s getting ridiculous!!!!!!I Love the NBA

Looking like Dominique on that one

Terrific dunk, looks absolutely beautiful, but when I compare it to Drose’s reverse tomahawk dunk against the knicks last year, PG’s head doesn’t even get as high to the rim as Drose’s does. PG is about 6’10 with the growth spurt he had this summer, Drose is 6’2½.

    good call chubachuchi

    shades of Dominique Wilkins

^ token not reading anyones comments comment of the day

It was ok, but only when compared to DRose…who is smaller and does it harder and higher!

Take into account that he basically did it in stride tho. When Rose has those breakaways, he’s usually dribbling most of the way and is able to get a controlled gather and leap. George just caught the pass, one dribble and reversed like it was a layup.

  • Erik

^ dfrance, you got it. Running at full stride all game, bending those knees and playing hard D and then pulling a dunk like that on the break with 3 guys on your tail is ballsy and phenomenally athletic.

  • MeloMan15

Enigmatic must be joking… Rose does that maybe 5 times a year… not every 2nd game

  • robb

@Chubachuchi agreed. I also liked how Stephenson knew where to pass the ball even before he had it.

  • j edgar duder

when did the whole world turn into a bunch of smug haters…dunk was nice regardless of whether or not rose dunks it better.

@Jahmai Paul already has the length he doesn’t need to jump as high simple at that. His head will probably hit the rim if he does and that’s dangerous. Remember he’s jumping towards the rim, if it’s just a vertical dunk like D-Rose then you can jump as high as you want.
