Video: The Jeremy Lin Show Continues vs Lakers

Another Linsane performance by the Knicks guard.

Like everybody else, we were skeptical about this whole Jeremy Lin phenomenon in the beginning, but now it appears that the hype is very—or at least somewhat—real. Watch the Knicks guard torch the unsuspecting Lakers above.

this dude belongs in the league no doubt about that.

  • Towelie

    Atleast he got his chance.

So all this time the Knicks only needed a pg with a heart the size of Manhattan? Go figure

  • shutup

I didnt know sh!t about Lin before 4 games ago, but I’m rooting for him, definitely makes things interesting for the bottom of the eastern conference.

  • golakeshow

Jeremy Lin is a stupid loser

  • chinadian123

@golakeshow stfu… I know u a Laker fan.. so am I but respect what JLin did stop being a hater just because Lakers lost…smh..

Legit night and win for Lin and the knicks. I do believe his cross-up of Wall was more impressive than a night where he shows the garden faithful how over the hill Derek Fisher is. And Steve Blake can’t guard anything. The lakers are crap this year, other than having Bryant and Gasol.

  • OTB

I find it funny that people still doubt the kid. His production is bound to fall off, but if you can drop 38 points on the Lakers (and do most of the damage in the paint against Gasol and Bynum’s outstretched arms), you have talent. Unfortunetly, that talent is going to be killed once Melo is back.

  • shutup

That spin move was sick, not sure any other pg in that position woulda been able to stop him.

  • doyouwantmore

Laker fans are only happy when they’re on top. As soon as the Lakers don’t have the refs and league office helping them win championships half of their fan base shrinks. I was a Sonics fan, win or lose. I am Kings fan, win or lose. Lakers fans really care about fame, stardom, and shiny gold uniforms – but not basketball.

  • Sonicproof

True that, doyouwantmore. Laker fans are as fickle as they come.

  • Red

Kid has made my nba fantasy team happy. With that said he’s a fluke!! Lol jk but he’ll be just a decent player but he’ll be an All-star next year all of China will vote for him because Yao helps him.

  • Bill

Short Asian dude that’s only in his 2nd yr, and was never even drafted dropped 38 pts on the Lakers. “Wack Mamba”, Chokey Bryant, who’s in his 13th yr decided not to play until it was too late and lost.

  • http://slamonline.com tealish

Lin definitely has game. That stop and go style, is a lot like Steve Nash, and is a durable and effective one. This is no flash in the pan. The only question is whether he gets the minutes and touches once the ball stoppers return. Hopefully, D’Antoni recognizes how much better the Knicks look as a unit with the current guys they have.

  • logues

    all he does is lin

  • http://bulls.com airs

is golakeshow a fan of the laker…
    …or a fan of lakeshow?…

Click my name, for The Post Up a little over 6 weeks ago when I “broke the news” on Dec.27 at 10:40 am that the Knicks claimed Jeremy Lin…Then check out JTaylor21′s comment at Dec.27 at 11:08 am…PRICELESS! LMFAO!

  • Kobester

As asian guy who loves to play and watch basketball, I am so inspired and excited right now…..

  • http://www.yahoo.com Red

Yeah he was a fluke, for a second I actually thought this kid would go far but tonight proved otherwise.

  • shutup

they won tonight and the kid had 20

  • http://www.yahoo.com Red

Off of 24 some shots & made only 8…ok.

  • buschfire

better than what melo has been doing this season.

  • Startown

Did you see the final play, fricken unreal, back pick mugs Rubio and then they give Lin the foul, one week into his career and Nevis getting Kobe calls?

  • http://www.yahoo.com Red

Melo was injured a bunch, don’t try to argue if you’re gonna say Lin is better than Melo. And that was a bogus call, they should’ve called that.

  • http://redisahater.com boba

so he’s not allowed to have a bad shooting night? and as for the volume of attempts, this knicks team needs him to score; novak can only drill so many treys.

i feel like people are setting a ridiculous requirement for lin to be “for real”. WHAT MORE DO YOU PEOPLE WANT?

  • Red

Uhm actually Shumpert had a stroke too, now you’re just being a Stan. There’s no reason for u to keep shooting if you miss 18 shots but you know Fields is killing it and so is Shumpert.

  • http://www.slamonline.com spit hot fiyah

@orange i checked it out, preceless indeed lol. nice to see that u r showing up again after the knicks won a few games

  • ChipS

I wish people would stfu about Melo being a problem when he comes back. He was the one who begged D’Antoni to give the kid run because he hates playing POINT FORWARD because he’s a SCORER not a setup man or point guard or whatever yall want to call it. And of course Lin has been better because not only was Melo outta his habitat, he was playing with 3 or 4 different injuries at the same time. And yeah Lin numbers will go down because their BEST players and Scorers are coming back but he will still be as effective. So I wish everbody will stop acting like this will be the first time Melo will play with a point guard. Iverson,Billups, and Andre Miller all dominated the ball and Melo still put up numbers. Melo can relax now and go back to doing what he does best. Besides, he knows whats being said/written about him, he knows how the media and NYC fans is, he don’t want to prove them right. Reminds me of 08-09 Denver when he was injured all year and not shooting the ball well and everybody doubted him. In comes new point guard, team gets on a roll, playoffs come, he becomes lethal. Give him a chance!

  • http://www.yahoo.com Red

Agreed, Lin will still produce, but more so with assists, I predict he’ll get monster assist numbers but his scoring will plummet.

  • http://SLAMONLINE.COM LakeShow

Kid is Linsane. BA dum chahh! He is, as they would say, legit.

  • shutup

lmao startown, did you see rubio dribble the ball of his foot? talk about calls or no-calls but Lin did his thing sorta makes me think maybe you wouldnt be so high on rubios success if he didnt play for your team, as for Lin cant say I like the Knicks but his story is inspiring, want nothing but success for him.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Slick Ric

    ^ hypocrites

  • BBaller

    Lin with another W

  • WHITE_MAMBA_IS_GOAT

    @golakeshow …. He’s stupid? He’s from Harvard!

  • balLin

@red Fluke? He had 20pts, 6 rebounds, 8 assists, 3 steals and won the game on a free throw. You’re right. Those numbers are seriously overrated. 8 for 24? Wow he’s terrible. If only he put up numbers like Kobe did when they played like 11 for 29. That Kobe. What a fluke. (that’s sarcasm btw for those who can’t tell).

I think people who believED that Lin would score 30+ ppg were insane. The kid is a great NBA point guard who is playing above his level right now because they are short two all-stars on his team because he has to in order for the Knicks to win. I think naturally his numbers obviously will calm down because it’s not necessary to try and score so much when Melo and Amare are back. Winning games is the ultimate prize, not individual statistics. They found their point guard. Not a “fluke”.

  • Red

He’s not Kobe simple as that.

  • projectphantom

who is comparing Lin to Kobe? or Melo for that fact? If being a fluke is averaging 25 and 8 thru your first 4 NBA starts, ill take a team full of “flukes”

  • ChipS

2-15-12. He’s coming! He’s back. Coaches will cringe and he will troll his opponents!

  • Red

A fluke is taking 24 shots & only making 8, I wouldn’t ever take that. I’d rather take a consistent, disciplined point guard who is humble, Derrick Rose maybe? Yeah you guys are hype fiends.

  • fruizm

Those of you that say that its pure luck or hes a fluke…you have never played bball in your life! Its hard to score 38 in a pick up game…this kid is getting 38 against the LAKERS…say hwat you want, he can BALL. I dont even like him that much, but he can definitely BALL…

  • Startown

Shutup: my point was refs determined outcome, wasn’t Lin or Rubio, both played poorly in second half, you have to watch the game in order to understand.

  • Red

Oh he can ball all right that’s not being said, him getting as many points was a product of not being paid attention to on D & bad teams. Once he played consistent big men he couldn’t hit it anymore. 8 of 24, he’s a decent role player.

  • shutup

I did watch the game, there was no call to be made when Rubio turned the ball over is all I’m saying, poor execution and overall sloppy play plagued the end of the game for both teams. it was just a matter of execution, Rubio also missed a layup at the end along with Kevin Love’s airball. @red Ive seen Rose go 4-17 against the warriors so and 8-22 against the hawks 9-21 against boston,11-28 against the Heat lmao. This kid is nothing but humble, he gives credit to his team all the time, just because he didnt shoot over 50% this game what does that prove? Hype is giving credit to someone that hasnt earned it, which was my initial problem with Rubio, but now after producing much like Lin is doing you cant help but want the best for these young players.

  • projectphantom

@ red im overly hype on Lin. Its just a cool story. So D rose never shot bad in a game or had a inconsistent night? Fluke? smh. HIS TEAM WON THE GAME. He isn’t going to shoot lights out everyday. no one does in the NBA, Not even even the best pg in the league your boy D-Rose. BTW knicks are 5 and 0 with him on the court.

  • Red

Don’t compare Lin with a NBA MVP lol. Yeah Lin is a good distributer because of lax D and will continue to rack up assists cause he’s getting better because of this experience. They’re 5-0 because of horrible teams mostly not to say he hasn’t helped of course & don’t say the Lakers are good please

  • projectphantom

I’m not comparing them!!! he is not rose, not even close lol. They played “horrible” teams, but remember they had no stat or melo. they were supposed to be horrible in there absents too. when you have jerred jefferies in your starting line up…….uhh ill be nice here and say your team has no hope. winning is everything!I GUARANTEE the Lin story wouldn’t be 1/4th what it is now if they went 0-5 or 1-4 with his same numbers.

  • swiftyk

the Jeremy Lin story is in it’s first couple pages. he’s playing great right now, best first 4 starts in history they’re saying on espn. personally, i think that after teams have enough footage of him to scout him, he will slow down. but, i’d much rather see him go off all year long; it’d make a better story, and it would be better for basketball in general. the greats are supposed to beat the bad teams, so i don’t see how you could use that against him.

  • http://slamonline.com tealish

The Knicks were horrible. This was WITH Melo and Stat. Without those two $$$$ guys, the Knicks should be super horrible, right? So if your team is super horrible and you beat horrible teams (somehow we’re categorizing the Lakers among this mix), that’s still something, no?

  • Red

I agree it wouldn’t be but it just happened they played bad teams. The Stat-Melo duo isn’t working its because they’re that he’s doing well, if he can be a distributor though(Lin) then The Melo-Stat duo may work out.

  • Name

Red, you’re a complete moron. Rose routinely has 8-24, 9-28, 10-29 type nights. Also funny that you completely disregarded the first four games where he averaged 25+ on 58% shooting while dramatically boosting the production of guys like Jefferies and Novak. More importantly, Knicks have won their last five games with him playing huge minutes and they’re the 8th seed at the moment.
