Video: Stan Van Gundy and Dwight Howard Address the Rumors

By far the most awkward thing you’ll watch today.

So, as you might’ve heard by now, earlier today Stan Van Gundy confirmed the report that stated Dwight Howard requested that his head coach be fired…and then, minutes later, the Magic center denied it, having no idea SVG just admitted it was all true. Wanna watch a video of this awkwardness? Of course you do. Check it out above.

Wow, Dwight…really? C’mon at least be honest. This is the most awkward thing I’ve seen this year.

  • Keyon B.

I concur with BlackPhantom. S. Van Gundy was as straightforward and honest as a human being could be and then steps up D. Howard and just acts like…Don´t know, missing words in this case…Didn´t expect Dwight to act shady like that.

-I like SVG. First time I realized it is 5 mins ago…
    -I don’t like Dwight. First time I realized is 5 mins ago…

@LakeShow: how could anyone like Dwight anymore? He’s just torpedoed his image this year for absolutely no reason. As I’ve said before: he’s made Lebron’s Decision look good. And that takes effort.

Best video I’ll see ALL DAY.

  • IamYOU

When Dwight stepped in, well, it was.. AAAAAWKWAAAARD…

I wouldn’t go that far Dagger. As far as Dwight’s year being worse than the decision that is. I wanted to give Howard all the room to prove he wasn’t a little biatch, but he just keeps showing the opposite. He’s a dork now though. Should have been more professional. If he was professional he would probably have an MVP this year.

spoken like a true a**clown. Dwight Horward, you stay away from my Chicago Bulls, ya hear!?

  • Ali

diet pepsi is so SVGs drink

Like I said on another thread, SVG is a straight shooter and he’s right, nobody needs that B.S.

I am not an expert on body language but Dwight didn’t seem very comfortable. Why?

D12 should own up to what he does/wants. Kobe may not be the warm and fuzzy type but at least, he never pretended to be. I have to give him that. (And I am not a fan of his BTW). Dwight, on the other end, sold himself as a nice guy but he’s starting to look like a big phony.

The first sign was when he impregnated a team dancer, no? Lol.

My mind says that the drama is true. But for some reason I think that this was all planned by Dwight and Stan to get back at reporters for always strumming up any cause that would tear down the already dysfunctional Magic. It’s either Ron Jeremy and Dwight got us all good or that the Magic ain’t getting outta the first round.

  • Moj

Lmao look at Dwight getting all defensive and shifting the blame! Damn Dwight, nobody likes a liar.

  • http://www.slamonline.com the_unknown

Stan Van Gundy = Ron Jeremy

  • elmaar

the whole magic organization is rotten inside out starting from dwight and ending with that ratfink who told van gundy what’s up! looks like dwight just messed up big time!

So much tension in the air…

Watching this made my butthole suck lemons.

  • bnets

Okay Dwight Coward lookin like a clown, I’d rather keep Brook Lopez at this point

  • Shecky Shabazz

@ab Daniel Bryan? Anyway, Dwight is just a fool. Plain and simple

  • http://www.slamonline.com the_unknown

@shecky there were “yes! yes! yes!” chants at the heat/sixers games on tuesday, it’s crazy how popular bryan has become in just a matter of days lol

  • http://slamonline.com tealish

Dwight is a clown. We don’t know all the facts yet, but it’s pretty obvious at this point, that dude is a punk. Stan is handling this very well. Props for SOME professionalism being shown. My goodness, that was awkward.

Dwight, why would you opt in for next year when you don’t want to be here? Loyalty? No, you’ve hurt our team more by staying with us, playing horrible and selfishly, ruining team chemistry, and depriving us of a player who actually wants to be here. So, I say this, unless Dwight actually signs an extension with the Magic and demonstrates simply ONE selfless and mature act of commitment, you can consider me no longer a fan of the star of my own team. Seeing Dwight tune out SVG tonight at the Knicks game just proves he simply lied to the media. All he cares about at this point in his career is, well I don’t even know what you’d call it. Selfish infamy? In short, I’ll be smiling the day he’s off my team.

Sh*t even Kobe would’ve handled it better than Dwight did.

  • http://slamonline.com The Philosopher

    Lol @Stan Van Gundy.
Sipping on an empty can of soda.
And Howard is a walking quagmire.

  • el_larsen

    dwight has lost me

    Cherish this awkwardness people!

What did Howard do wrong? SVG saying he’d been told by someone at the top confirms nothing! All you have now is two guys that say they heard something from a third party. High school newspaper editors wouldn’t accept that as confirmation!

Even if this does turn out to be true, why are y’ll blaming solely Howard?! The ownership had to agree! They are just as much to blame, for those of you who think this situation warrants that, as Howard. Dwight Howard is the draw in Orlando. He’s a great basketball player, spends millions on his foundation and is a good citizen. If all it takes to keep someone like that on my team is to fire a coach, who hasn’t won a championship and doesn’t need to worry about money, then do it!
