Video: Ray Allen – ‘The Routine’

Watch the Hall-of-Famer’s pre-game preparation.

Celtics’ team photographer Brian Babineau made a short film about Ray Allen’s legendary pre-game warmup.

Ray Allen is the man, this is the reason he’s one of the greatest shooters in league history.

Would’ve been a nice nickname for him, Ray “the Routine” Allen. But then again when people call you “Jesus” nothing else really matters…

Excellent piece Brian, it coulda been 55mins and I still woulda watched every minute…

thats why he`s the purest shooter in the game, people don`t call u jesus 4 nothin`! makes it look so easy – almost automatic! but he`s puttin`in the work!

  • Think Tank

Ray Allen is probably the cream of the crop in terms of pre game routines, but I would still love for this to be a series with multiple players and videos.

  • more of hova less of me

    not better than jesus!

Apparently Kyle Lowry also has an obsessive compulsive pre-game routine, lol. Co-sign Think Tank, that’s a great idea.

Beauty. Silky. Thanks for sharing. I would like to know what “the routine” exactly consists of though.

  • Shifty

Awsome piece. Not many basketball videos can be silent in terms of not much speech being involved and still have a full understanding of mr Allen’s demeanour when it comes to the art of shooting. Would watch again in a second.

anyone that wanted to improve their shot, could just watch this and get automatic results. form and mechanics are simply perfect
