Serge Ibaka Blocks LeBron James’ Dunk Attempt (VIDEO)

LeBron James and Serge Ibaka met at the summit in Game 2 of the NBA Finals last night, and Ibaka won the battle by rejecting James’ big-time dunk attempt. An incredible play.

    lebron is seriously getting up

  • Coggie13

Thats more of a foul than Lebrons so called foul on KD

  • ChipS

When I seen Bron gather and go up, my first thought was Damon Jones is gonna be so happy. Serge never saw a shot that he didn’t want to go after. I give him props for that.

    amen Coggie13, amen

  • Layzie

Co-sign Coggie13. Looks like all wrist on every replay.

  • bike

Serious balls by Serge to even try something like that against LeBron.

  • eZ

Thats like 5% fingertip on the ball and 95% hand and wrist on lebron’s…more foul than block. Which shows us all, calls go both ways and missed calls go both ways..

Props to Serge for challenging a LeBron dunk attempt…or was he just giving him a high-five prior to the actual dunk being completed?

  • Niio

Yeah I watched this and I really didn’t even see a finger on the ball, just pretty much got hammered on his arm/wrist. When LeBron “fouled” KD I though it was a good no call he stuck out his forearm but he didn’t really push more like just to protect himself

Don’t see too many OKC fans calling for a foul or complaining about officiating on this play…

“LeBron James with no regard for human life” Part 2, if he would have dunked tho

If you pause it around the 15.5 sec mark, Ibaka gets a lot of ball. The follow through after that is where the hands meet. Excellent block to me and excellent attack of the rim by LeBron. He tried to put Serge in the rim.

Cue : Lords of the Underground ”Chief Rocka ” tune: Now replace Chief Rocka with ‘Serge Ibaka.’ = #1 Shot Blocka #1 !

My point exactly about the no call on Durant, they both had contact but with Durant’s the Heat had one to give, so that late with a lame call that wasn’t a foul would have been devastating for the NBA even more. This foul was early in the game so there was no damage that could have been done. In addition Selblostia hit him had his forearm on him and no call so people that want to see the Heat lose should just stop watching the games because they obviously have to cheat to win…

Shortly after that block, Serge was overheard mumbling ‘Mmmpf a odo dat bam a wang sshh dodo’.

  • high off haze

wrist or not, it wasnt a foul cuz he actually went straight up & didnt come down in any way..straight up & down…lebron brought his momentum into serge…about time someone wasnt scared to compete with bron bron

  • robb

I love iBlocka. But it was a foul.

  • http://blackamericaweb.com charliewinning

It wasn’t a foul. His fingers were on the ball. The hand is part of the ball, so Lebron’s wrist is irrelevant as long as the ball is touching Ibaka’s fingertips first.

  • Roi

Hand is part of the ball.

Guys, come on, you know block rules. Look, he hit the ball first, then carried through to his hand. Even after the ball has been dislodged, that part of the palm and fingers does NOT merit a foul. While certainly not the cleanest block, that is not a foul.

  • LA Huey

high off haze, if Ibaka didn’t go straight up, how did he land just even with the side of the background after clearly taking off from beneath the basket? LBJ has some sort of gravitational pull?

  • Judge,Jury,Executioner

he should of went under MJ style, It was a foul though, Ibaka comes from an angle, not straight up which initiates the contact. Ibaka’s hand re-routes James hand..Personal foul.

He did kinda hit his hand on that… I thought it looked clean at first but……

  • D

Where is the Ibaka pin on Wade , that was sick

  • D

Ya I like the Heat but I want OKC to win this , but that was a foul the ball was over his hand it was all wrist from every angle

  • coggie13

Yeah its not like the block dislodges the ball it is the contact on the forearm by his forearm

…there are some very, very interesting interpretations of the rules of basketball here.

  • billups

block and the foul I guess….imo you can’t call that a foul in the playoffs, clean basketall play
