With Denver trailing by two points in the fourth against the Grizzlies, Danilo Gallinari pulled off this ridiculous play that would have T-Mac smiling in China.

is this the equivalent of joel anthony hitting a step back 3?

Not a travel fools. His left foot is his pivot foot. He steps through lifts that foot and doesn’t reground it before releasing the ball. Know the game.

    It’s a travel, allknowinggameknower.

Freeze it at :04, left pivot foot in the air, right foot on the ground from the “step through”, ball still in his hand.

    Travel but still nice

two steps allowed on layups, and as this could technically be called a layup; legal move.

Most surprising part about this play – Gallinari can dunk

If you’re surprised by danillo’s athleticism, you must obviously have never watched him play.

If I ever get LP, I’m following Danilo’s team. He can handle the ball, shoot, run and pass; he’s fun to watch, and he takes it to the rack hard. He may not have Blake Griffin athleticism, but that doesn’t stop him from crashing into the hoop. Youtube him.

He’s allowed to lift his pivot foot so long as he doesn’t put it back on the floor before he releases the ball. When you’re a qualified referee get back to me. Until then, since I’m the qualified referee I’ll keep you advised. It’s a great move for players who can’t jump. Which is most of us old guys who can barely remember when we used to be able to.

someone has been watching Kobe too much…

Nice play but definitely a travel. NBA players get away with a lot of ish. It’s almost another sport.
