Damian Lillard Hits a Circus Layup vs New York Knicks (VIDEO)

The ROY starts and finishes the break.

This season’s surefire NBA Rookie of the Year, Damian Lillard, dominated Raymond Felton and the New York Knicks (26 points, 10 assists in a 105-90 win for the Portland Trail Blazers). After ripping JR Smith, Lillard nailed an incredible fastbreak layup.

    ROY for sure, glad to see him doing so well. Although he pretty clearly landed before the ball left his hand on this one, kinda blatant even by NBA standards. Great effort though.

    Travel, unfortunately. He lands before releasing the shot. Looked awkward at full speed, but especially obvious in slow motion. Not that travelling is ever called in the L, but I’ve noticed a lot of these wild layups (especially by KD) are actually up-and-down offenses before baskets.

    Can you link to the clip where you can see his foot on the ground and the ball in his hand, please? You sure can’t pick that in the low-res video from the stands linked above.
