Political journalist George Stephanopoulos grilled Dennis Rodman about his crazy and somewhat controversial trip to North Korea, during which The Worm kicked it with a young dictator for a few days.

    Surely Stephanopoulos knew that judgment and moral clarity are concepts rarely
    associated with Dennis Rodman and that his attempt to gently educate the wacko about North Koreo was a complete waste of time.

    Lol…What I got from the interview is that one cannot be friends or appear to be friendly with someone at the top of the US’s sh** list. The only excusable way to be friendly is to constantly pester them about their social, political, economic etc issues at every opportunity as you peer down at them from your moral pedestal. Then and only then can you be bff’s.

    You know who else admired those “evil, human rights abusing” Kims? Let’s see… the Black Panther Party, Che Guevara, South Africans who fought against the apartheid regime, Angolans who fought against Portugese colonialism, Zimbabweans who fought against racist white-minority rule, and Palestinians/Arabs who fought against apartheid Israel. But… clearly ALL those people were brainwashed, just like Dennis. Either that or the Korean government forced them to say nice things. Seems legit.

    human rights watch, an EU body with backing from the UN declares that north Korea is a bad place to be. I’m sure you’ve got the inside track, but you sound like an apologist. Most countries have pasts and presents they can be ashamed of, and can be labelled as hypocrites, but at least a large number of peoples in the world can voice their opinion on such things, in countries where they can elect their governments. Your argument seems to centre around the idea of freedom fighters within their own countries breaking out against the oppressors. Well, last time I checked the Kims were running the country for a fair few decades, and I haven’t heard much about the freedom fighters. Often a regime change can be a good thing, like a Mandela, but sometimes you get a Mugabi. Unless you think that Zimbabwe’s a good place to be? These things can be judged on a case by case basis, rather than lumping it all together. But maybe I’m wrong, everyone is having a good time in North Korea, and they have got the best education and health services in the world, after all, along with Burma.

    Umm, actually, North Koreans do have thriving education and healthcare services. They have universal literacy, 100%–that’s as good as the US. They have free healthcare unlike Americans, and are second in the world to Cuba with most doctors per 1000 people.

    Mugabe is a great leader too. Pretty much everything you’ve said is wrong. Human Rights Watch is not a respectable organization at all–and neither is the EU.
