Andre Miller Says the Denver Nuggets Won’t Win 57 Games Again (VIDEO)

Prior to flaming out in the Playoffs, the Denver Nuggets went 57-25 in the 2012-’13 regular season. They then lost their GM Masai Ujiri to the Toronto Raptors, fired head coach George Karl, and watched Andre Iguodala bolt to the Golden State Warriors. Nuggets point guard Andre Miller, harshly but accurately, doesn’t envision Denver having the same success next season (starting at the 4:15 mark of the video above.)

The whole time I was watching this couldn’t help but think if you take away the hair on his head he will look just like Kenny Smith. Anyway he’s right because they got rid of the coach that put a system together that allowed them to play to their strengths. Should be interesting to see what B Shaw does. Does he stick with that run and gun style or slow it down.

Let’s see: San Antonio, The Clippers, Oklahoma City, Golden State, Houston, Minnesota, Memphis, New Orleans, Denver, Utah, The Lakers, Portland, Dallas, Sacramento, Phoenix. In that order.

i would be surprised if the Nuggets finish the season at .500

  • BCoops

You honestly believe that lakers will finish above portland this season?

  • Caboose

    Houston? As 5th seed?

  • Joshua Maria Peter Bautista

I had a feeling that would get the most heat. Well, yeah, simply because of Kobe Motherfuckin’ Bryant.

Nah, I think that they would because they’re a pretty good offensive team and with Kobe out for a while, on-court chemistry shouldn’t be an issue early on, with three willing passers in Nash, Pau and Kaman and only Nick Young to shoot head-scratchers.

  • Joshua Maria Peter Bautista

Yeah, because I’m afraid putting them too high would make me an idiot and putting them too low would definitely confirm it

  • theDankerNuggets

He’s right, 57 wins was a franchise record. You don’t make all the changes they have and expect to match your best regular season ever.

I’m not convinced, Portlands young players will be a year older and they have acquired some form of a bench. If it wasnt for that awful 13 game losing streak at the end of last season they were doing ok.

How did they get into that 13-game losing streak anyway?

  • TR

haha, ive never noticed the resemblance

i know u don’t like their team a whole lot but .500 is reasonable. that would be a 15 game decrease, they will digress but i don’t think below .500

  • http://soundcloud.com/tray-8 T-Ray

I didn’t either until just now lol

They were picked to be a below .500 level team after the initial Melo trade remember? Now they are in even worse shape, with a brand spankin new coach. And a coach who runs a system offense at that. .
Did I mention they aren’t bringing back Kosta Koufos? Which means heavy minutes for JaVale McGee in a system offense….that’s scary. .
At least they signed JJ Hickson right? It’s not like Kenneth Faried is a better version of the same player…. .
After Philadelphia lost Andre Iguodala, they went from a top 12 defense to like 26th. Denver lost him and Corey Brewer. .
I like nothing about their off season

  • vINSANITY

They put all their money on Faried and McGee it seems

  • spit hot fiyah

i dont like it either and i’m sure they will get worse, i just don’t think below .500. and who really cares what people predicted them to be post melo trade, i thought they got great value for him and they actually started playing way better.

the hickson deal is no good, specially when anthony randoplh is on the same type of deal. koufus was very solid, losing him will hurt, but arthur is alright and hopefully for them fournier keeps improving. i have a fealing that andre miller will be dealt though.

and missing gallo for the beginning of the season will hurt a lot, so they will fall off for sure, i just don’t think it will be that drastic.

wouldn’t surprise me if portland will be in the hunt for the 8th seed. they made some sneaky good moves this summer.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

I was just pointing out what they were predicted to do because they will likely fall closer to original expectation then the over achieving they were doing under Karl.

  • spit hot fiyah

i hear you, yeah probably closer. they wont set a franchise mark again that’s for sure, i don’t think they should be completely slept on though, they have a decent amount of talent. it will put b shaw to the test that’s for sure

  • spit hot fiyah

by losing the first game of the streak

  • RR

I see Denver out of the playoffs this year.. They lost too much and didnt really gain anything.. LA is a better team than them imo..

  • RKJ92

    bada bing! haha

  • RKJ92

If you listen carefully he also sounds like Chris Rock ;) haha

  • Joshua Maria Peter Bautista

I’m guessing it ended 13 games later?

  • LP @ThisisEther

Javale McGee with more minutes!?!?!?? I’m ordering my League Pass right now…..
