Carmelo Anthony Scores 45 Points in Loss to the Rockets (VIDEO)

Melo lights up at MSG.

Despite a huge, 45-point night from Carmelo Anthony, the New York Knicks went down in heartbreaking fashion to the visiting Houston Rockets 109-106.

I watched this game last night. It seemed like Melo and JR were out for theirs and there was minimal offensive sets run. Granted Melo was playing really well, but there can’t be possessions where Melo brings the ball up the court and is the only one to touch it.

NY has a solid team, but until they start playing together, this is what’s going to happen. They remind me of the ’00/’01 Sixer team with AI, only not nearly as good defensively.

i wonder what kind of results there would be if melo played on a team where he was a second option instead of a first. Would he become more efficient or would he still be a ball stopper

I don’t think it can happen for a few more years. There’s no way he’d take a backseat right now. I love watching him play as a Knicks fan, but I have no idea how you’d build a championship team around him.

He is very fun to watch when the ball is moving and he makes quick decisions.
If he doesn’t tho, not so much.

Great play from Melo…but if it doesn’t result in a win, I don’t see reason to celebrate.
