Chris Paul With a Record 12th Straight Double-Double (VIDEO)

LA Clippers superstar point guard Chris Paul extended a historic streak of double-doubles to open the season — for the 12th straight time, Paul finished with double figures in points (20) and assists (11), breaking Magic Johnson’s record set back in the 1990-’91 season.

i really don’t get how people think this guy is overrated

  • http://signup.divinerenergy.com/ Anthony Dixon

I used to but watching his is a pure joy. He does everything well.

  • pposse

cause he doesn’t win when it matters most

    ahh, neither does yours.

Gonna be an MVP year for CP3 I think..Tough to say hes not the most important player to his team out of all the finals hopefuls

  • pposse

i watched the 4th qtr of the clips game last night and cp was lights out. He literally scored from wherever he wanted to, but if you want to know why i think he is overrated its cause in the playoffs that 4th qtr formula will probably not work. He’s too short to be pulling up at the elbow and draining shots. Rubio was acting foolish on defense going underneath screens and getting burned over and over. I just dont see that happening in the playoffs at all.

And before you bring Rose into this please realize that 2/3 times the bulls lost in the playoffs it was to Lebron James.

who cares who they lost too? context only matters to you when it supports Rose lol. Chris Paul has never lost in the playoffs to an inferior team, and neither has Rose. As far as i’m concerned, both of them are more than good “when it matters”
    .
and we don’t know what will or won’t work for the Clippers in the playoffs until the playoffs. But as i’ve been saying all summer, this is the year Chris Paul proves how good he is to those that under appreciate him. Or he proves all those people right.
    .
so far, whether you want to admit it or not, he’s been the best point guard in the NBA by a huge gaping margin.

  • pposse

so far yeah i agree he’s been the best this year, but Westbrook shoudln’t get overshadowed.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

i mean, he’s only putting up 22-5-5 on 41% shooting.
    .
Chris Paul is putting up 19-5-12.5 on 43%
    .
idk if anyone around here is a bigger fan of Westbrook than I am, but he really hasn’t been as good as Paul so far. although he has been freaking great.

  • pposse

i agree, but im not so impressed by the assists paul gets. Its impressive, but its not thaat impressive. He’s on a team where everyone relies on cp to get them the ball in the proper spot to score. Westbrook plays alongside a volume/efficient scorer just for comparisons sake. I don’t believe a lot of pg’s in the league are given the opportunity to impact the game the way cp and the constructed clippers are.

Just hypothetically, if that trade CP to the Lakers actually went thru i wouldn’t expect CP to average anything more than 8 assists per game.

nah, it’s not his APG that is really impressive. it’s this, http://stats.nba.com/playerTrackingPassing.html?pageNo=1&rowsPerPage=25&sortField=PTS_CRT_48&sortOrder=DES

    .

do you understand how f*cking crazy that is?

  • robb

    The best

  • pposse

thats pretty impressive, but it also shows just how dependent the clips are on one guy.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

well yeah, that’s been the issue with all of his teams. he’s had no freaking help lol

  • robb

he? basketball is a team sport and few players in the league are more competitive than CP3. I don’t remember him not stepping up to the plate. He’s never had enough talent around him to win ‘when it matters’, the same happens with DRose. Both need better teammates, otherwise they’ll always compete but they’ll never win.
