Paul Pierce Blocks LeBron James (VIDEO)

Ignites the Barclays Center crowd.

Pierce Pierce sent the Barclays Center crowd into hysteria Friday night by emphatically swatting away the MVP’s layup attempt in the fourth quarter. Pierce’s 19 points led the Nets in their 101-100 win—breaking a streak of 13 consecutive losses to the Heat.

Lebron seemed lethargic and uninterested most of the game. However, he came alive in the 4th (including that awesome casual three pointer with 3 seconds left to bring them within one). Crazy that he posted a 26/6/7 statline while looking so out of it.

Why is he looking at the ref after the block?

  • keyon dooling

finding it increasingly strange that Bron can, at times, elevate so easily (see the running, double pump layups last night – 2 of em) and yet often times doesn’t elevate as high on his close range shots that aren’t flip shots/layups. Not sure if it’s a choice of his to not elevate as high (like on the shot above) or whether he’s just not capable of elevating on these type of shots with a defender in close quarters. This differentiation is becoming more and more evident over the past 3 years or so.

realy weird for a guy with his athleticism. (watching it again on the video, forgot Van Gundy reiterated a similar thought

I HATE when star players look at the refs after getting blocked or dunked on acting like there’s a foul

    saving face

The Nets bench’s versatility is unreal and scary, those five starters will be ready for the playoffs

Clean block. For the Brooklyn game and 76ers game, the Heat have been playing very lazy. They’ll get it together. It was similar beginning last season. The end was fantastic.

  • EJ

The block was clean, but JET hit him in the face tho.

  • Ryan

Did you all see Paul grabbing LeBron’s shorts before the block? Nice veteran trick.

  • Ryan

Oops. It was his jersey not his shorts. Same basic effect thought.

  • BK

shut up, that was a clean block. Heat fans are such in denial when their lequeen starts lookin bad

  • BK

another heat fan living from the past. This is the present, not last year dummy

  • thebossman15

lmao i know man, and they’re the first to point out other players when they mess up

  • Seth

It was only a matter of time before the LeBron defenders came out of the woodwork. I suppose there’s an excuse for when Turner dunked on him the other night too?

Yeah, San Antonio conceding their own championship was really fantastic.

Talk about making a fuss out of nothing lol

  • Cortez Mack

The only accurate thought in this post is “oops”.

    good block

  • Drago

Seth… I hope you recorded that dunk as it’s now being confiscated from the NBA archives as something that never happened.

damn you nets for proving me wrong

If lebron James ain’t in the article, Paul pierce doesn’t get a article. #flatout

  • pposse

cause wade wasn’t playing. Wade is the heart and soul of that team.

  • pposse

i noticed he doesn’t jump as high off two feet, but give him a running start he can leap to the sky (off one foot).

  • pposse

paul pierce treated wade and james like little kids on friday. He owned them all game. The second quarter he put Lebron on his a$$ when Lebron contested a shot and he was hitting them with the mid range. Sorry Lebron you do have a rival in PP whether you want to admit it or not.
