Travis Outlaw Fined $15,000 for Clotheslining JJ Redick (VIDEO)

In the fourth quarter of the Sacramento Kings’ 103-102 loss to the LA Clippers on Saturday, Travis Outlaw stopped a fastbreak by dragging JJ Redick down by the neck. Outlaw was ejected after being assessed a Flagrant Foul 2, and it’s gonna cost him. From the press release: “Sacramento Kings forward Travis Outlaw has been fined $15,000 for making excessive and unnecessary contact with Los Angeles Clippers guard J.J. Redick, it was announced Sunday by Rod Thorn, President, Basketball Operations.”

    he took a really bad fall. looking at the replay though the intent doesn’t look that bad. clothesline makes me think of wwf, this wasn’t that bad, not a smart play. but redick’s momentum made it look worse than it was

    What was the initial call on the floor? The refs should have been able to downgrade that after looking at the replay. He didn’t make contact with his head or neck, nor did he follow through. In real time it looks way worse than it is and I’d understand it if they didn’t have a chance to review these calls but they do… I think.
