Kevin Durant Still Tired of Being Second in the NBA (VIDEO)

We’ve known about Kevin Durant’s fatigue with constantly coming in second to LeBron James in MVP trophies and NBA championship rings. Well, guess what? Nothing’s changed, as KD let Showtime know.

40 seconds of Durant repeating himself; 30 seconds of advertising. Good stuff.

  • Jay Cutler

Was that commercial really necessary? The whole thing could have been something up in one sentence. Interviewer: “are you still tired of being second place?” KD: “yes.”

  • Jay Cutler

    * Summed up

  • JML-G

good news for KD – he aint the second one anymore since OKC didnt make it to finals and wont do it this season either

  • Caboose

Maybe he should stop taking that #2 spot for granted….

  • LLC#12

He needs to watch out. Paul George will be happy to take that number 2 spot in the not-so-distant future.

  • MUBWAR

what kind of loser thinking is that Caboose?

  • Caboose

He makes it sound like it’s a given that he’s #2 in the league. Rather entitled, wouldn’t you say? I could argue Brow and CP have had better seasons so far.

  • robb

He should get used to it.

  • MUBWAR

blasphemous statement. 28.5p 8.2r 5a with 1.4 steals and 1 block. 46% from the field, 37% from deep and 88% in FT. He might even snatch that MVP from James

  • Caboose

Oh come on, look up Brow and CP’s stats and get back to me.

  • MUBWAR

not necessary, cp is about 17-18 and 12assists, brow is like 18 10 and 3 blocks(my fantasy team just lost him) if im not mistaking. still not better than Durantula.

  • Caboose

Both of em have higher PER’s and win shares. So….

  • MUBWAR

really bro, we are gonna base our argument on win shares? comon caboose, you’re better than that

  • Caboose

Dude, you thought Derozan was better than Pierce 3 years ago. I have no idea what you base it on.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

considering those 2 teams have worse records than Oklahoma City…….uhm, it’s pretty telling to say Durant has less win shares. assuming you know what a win share even is.

  • MUBWAR

I think i know how to use google nbk.

  • MUBWAR

loool you got me there and that was 2 years ago.

  • Caboose

    He doesn’t.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

    then do it?

  • MUBWAR

how do win shares prove that the brow and cp3 are better players this year than Durant? a little logic fellas

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

do you understand what a win share is yet? or do you just know how to use google, but not actually put it to practice?

  • MUBWAR

let’s not compare my understanding and yours nbk. americans aren’t the brightest people out there.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

uhm, are you answering the question? or just being a moron on purpose?
    .
we are all human beings. what country i’m from, or you are from, says absolutely nothing about your intelligence. assuming you also know what intelligence is?

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

he’s smarter than us. because he’s not from the United States. SO clearly, he knows more than us. Bow Down to Canada, and the genius that is their people.

  • MUBWAR

loool i would love to continue this little bickering here, but i gotta help a tech install a panel. in the meantime, you can try explaining to me about that win share bullshit.

  • Caboose

Dude, tell me what a win share is. Tell me, since you clearly know it’s meaningless. Or are you jumping to conclusions about things you don’t understand?

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

nah man. you are the one from a country with more intelligent people. you can figure it out.

  • Caboose

Dude, just for fun, look at this list:

    http://www.shanghairanking.com/ARWU2013.html

It’s a ranking (using the most objective and most respected ranking service on the planet based out of Shanghai) of the best colleges in the world.

Of the top 20 higher education schools IN THE WORLD, the USA has 17 of them.

I agree, America is full of a bunch of f*cktards who keep pushing for the abolishment of all government.

But, amongst higher education? We really do have some of the best and the brightest.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

    #79 baby!

    lol

  • Caboose

    Haha hell yeah man

  • MUBWAR

anyways my shift is done so ima bother you guys after I get home and smoke a J. Oh ya number 28 all day

  • Caboose

As in, you went there? Or that’s the best school Canada has to offer?

    (Full disclosure, I love Canada)

  • MUBWAR

i went there but it’s not the best. University of Ottawa is much better. For me anyways.

  • Caboose

Cool. Well, #3 for me. So yup. Canadians are so much smarter.

  • MUBWAR

    lool f off dude

  • Dagger

Those stats are substantially worse than Lebron’s so far (although I think they’ll improve).

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

funny that Mub came in here, insulted all american’s intelligence, while also skating around every question asked of him.

  • Caboose

Is it that surprising? I mean honestly, it’s what he does.

  • Dagger

This statement is almost as silly as MUBWAR’s initial insult.

Somewhat unrelated: too often on this site someone makes an unsubstantiated claim about a player, which someone else dismisses with statistical data, which then starts an argument between the guy with the stats and the guy with the gut feeling.

Very few people actually contextualize those stats by talking about what players are actually assigned to do in different systems, with different teammates. Off the top of my head, nbk is really the only person who does this consistently.

That’s not to say that we should all write comments in a certain way. It’s just worth remembering that while stats can point us in a certain direction, they don’t bring us all the way home.

A case in point: your ranking really measures the strength of science programs, especially those that contain strong departments in disciplines that yield the most Nobel laureates or publications in Nature and Science. That’s why its order is different from many other university rankings.

  • Caboose

(The argument was purely for MUBWAR, it’s a really stupid statement).

And all of that is completely fair. And well said.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

hey i appreciate that, i try and be as fair as possible when using stats to support my opinion. glad to see i’m not a complete failure lol

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

if you want to bash the intelligence of others? yes, it’s pretty surprising. idk, i feel like if you want to brag about intelligence, you might as well do it intelligently.

  • Caboose

And I will be the first to admit I rely too much on stats.

My justification for it is this: I don’t watch every game. Will I see every team play multiple times a season? Of course. But in my mind, it’s not the subjectivity that’s the whole problem, it’s also the sample size. I don’t feel qualified enough to make clear assertions based sheerly on my observations without something logical to back them up. In general.

When I DO watch every game of a team (Orlando Magic, 2008-2011), I feel very qualified to use my own intuition and observation.

My problem with many people is that they disregard some stats because the sample size is too small, or the stats are too skewed, but I ask them, how many games do you watch? And of those, how many of them are unbiased, where the outcome is unimportant to you?

Ironically, it’s because of the sampling problem that I dislike using subjective observation, not necessarily the subjectivity itself.

There’s also bias, but that’s a WHOLE DIFFERENT issue.

  • Caboose

    You’d think.

  • Caboose

I think Brow is closer at this point…

  • Dagger

I agree with you, and I’m in the same boat. Even if I could get every channel up here in enlightened Canada (snicker), I wouldn’t have the time or even the desire to watch them. So I rely on stats a little too much as well, although I’m increasingly trying to contextualize them as much as possible.

Which is a long way of saying: don’t read my comment as a critique, just an observation.

  • MUBWAR

I already gave you guys an answer. That american comment was just to get on nbk’s nerves. Lol

  • Caboose

Tell me what a win share is.

  • MUBWAR

    I don’t know bro, a lil help

  • MUBWAR

    Lool

  • Caboose

This illustrates my point man. Don’t dismiss something just cause you’ve never heard of it.

  • MUBWAR

I’ve been using slam for about 5 years now n u think I’ve never heard of win shares? Keep up that nonsense dude

  • Caboose

Yet you don’t know what they are?

  • MUBWAR

Just last year, I was arguing this with either u or nbk so I guess u wanna go back there huh.

  • Caboose

Sigh. Screw you. Go and smoke another J.

  • MUBWAR

    Looooool my nigga

  • MUBWAR

    Lol its lit already

  • Kadavour
  • 2chainz

Paul George is better than Chris Paul this season so I would put it like this LeBron, Durant, and Paul George as my top 3.

  • 2chainz

    Paul George is coming…stay tuned.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk
  • LLC#12

I don’t know about that, George is in the MVP conversation, leading one of the best teams in the league. I can’t see Brow surpassing George in anytime soon.

  • Caboose

Why? Why is Paul George better?

  • Caboose

Did KD just like fall asleep?

  • 2chainz

Front runner for MVP and the sole reason his team is the #1 seed in the NBA Eastern Conference and has acclimated from where he was a season ago.

  • Caboose

Sole reason? You’re delusional dude. This Pacers team is not the 07 Cavs.

  • afra33

He will never catch LeBron with that skeleton frame.

  • 2chainz

Remember when Danny Granger was their first option and got them absolutely nowhere…..look at what Paul George is doing right now for the Pacers and you can see an astronomical difference.
