Kevin Durant Shakes Kenneth Faried Badly With Crossover and Jumper (VIDEO)

Smooth move.

It was not a great night on the defensive end for Kenneth Faried. Kevin Durant nearly sent him crashing to the floor with a nasty, right-to-left crossover.

Big mans worst nightmare to be on an island with a guard with handle like that. I respect Faried for staying on his feet. lol

funny thing is Durant is significantly taller than Faried too. Don’t see many big guy breaking ankles like this.

Durant is a 7 foot, shooting guard. It really isn’t fair. lol

Played like he knew he was gonna get beat off the dribble….way too much space, let KD dictate his defensive movements. As a big on a guard I think its usually best to press up, get them to commit and just do your best to try and catch up once they make their move. Looking at the replay I don’t think KD really knew what he wanted to do and was just dribbling until he saw the stumble..

that could have ended even worse

I think KD is one of the few players who actually make the shot after crossing someone!

  • Dfrance

KD was sizing him up the whole time, the cross is what caused the stumble. Pressing up is probably the better option, but a big guarding a guard has the mindset that “I know he’s quicker than me, let me play back so I don’t get beat. I have the length to close out on the jumper.” Sometimes it works, sometimes you get crossed over.
