Patrick Patterson Steals and Hits Game-Winner in Brooklyn (VIDEO)

Raps big in the clutch.

Toronto Raptors big man Patrick Patterson swiped an awful pass from Deron Williams, and then rattled in the game-winning jumper.

Patts coming up large just after airballing a three. Tuned in to the game for the last five mins and after that botched call on Lowry, I thought the Raps were done. They pulled out an awesome win there… This team is showing some real grit since the Rudy trade…

Damn. Buddy was in the zone that last 15 seconds of action lol

What is the most future NBA players a college team has ever had at once? That Kentucky squad had like 8 at once if I remember rightly (Wall, Cousins, Patterson, Miller, Bledsoe, Liggins, Orton & Harrellson)

This was the best Raptors win in years.

Hard to believe: Lowry is 27, Johnson is 27, Derozan is 24, Patterson is 24, Ross is 22, and Valanciunas is 21.

That’s a good, young core. If this team sticks together, and Uriji makes the right moves, it could just become something special.

Being a Raptors fan though, I know you held you breath like I did when Paul Pierce threw up that prayer at the buzzer!

  • JoeMaMa

You’re obviously not a Toronto fan – you still have hope.

I must say I’m very impressed at Patrick Patterson. I didn’t think much of him when we acquired him from the Gay Trade. But he has been playing like he has a chip on his shoulder (probably cause he’s been traded twice?) and I always feel like his shot will go in. I hope he keeps it up!

    oh ya. most def.

looking back I find it crazy how they didn’t win the tournament back then

Nice use of a jab step to free him up. Had Deron Williams flying.

the kentucky squad that won in 96 (i believe) must have been close. mccarthy, walker, pope, mercer, delk, derak anderson, epps never made it. i think i’m leaving someone out

  • LLC#12

I know, that squad now would probably be a playoff team. In the East, at least haha.

Wow, good work. From wikipedia: “Also known as “The Untouchables”,[1] eleven players from the 95–96 team eventually played in the NBA. These players were Derek Anderson, Tony Delk, Jamaal Magloire, Walter McCarty, Ron Mercer, Nazr Mohammed, Scott Padgett, Mark Pope, Jeff Sheppard, Wayne Turner, and Antoine Walker.”

That surely must be the record then!

Man I would have still been scared if Paul got the inbound from Madison Square Garden…

Raptor fans always have hope! Every season starts off optimistic and then slowly gets depressing. Only difference this year is that it slowly got depressing, then it got crazy exciting and filled with hope and potential very quickly. Any Raptor fan right now is elated and optimistic, but are still nervously watching through the gaps in their fingers since we’ve been burned so many times in the past (The Raptors are part of the reasons I have trust issues) Regardless, most loyal fan base in the NBA!

Agreed. I think the fact that there isn’t a projected “max player” among the names you mentioned may go a long way in bringing an elite free agent down the line.

Also, that charge call on Lowry was HORRIBLE! I almost through my couch at my TV when that ref called it!

  • http://twitter.com/niQknacks niQ

That’s cause Violet Palmer is one of the worst refs in the NBA.

  • spit hot fiyah

still have the championship game on vhs lol

forgot that magloire and Muhammad were on that team, they must have been freshmen that didn’t play. i can’t remember if padget and sheppard made the league for a short while, i know pope did for a short second. i think with denver.

turner never made it as far as i know.

  • Da-Meat-Hook

    My thoughts exactly!

All I can say is on to the next one!

  • LP @ThisisEther

because they had ZERO outside shooting…and low bball IQ…..Liggins was the only thing close to a shooter they had….

  • VanCityBBall

Up voted the sh*t out of that statement… The season starts with seeing how far Demar has come since the last season then people have gotten disappointed because of (most of the time) his lack of a 3pt game. But I remember Jack Armstrong say why badger him on that? Dwayne Wade doesn’t have the greatest shooting stroke ever but he’s still an AS… It’s just this is the first time Demar has really taken a noticeable leap with his game and IMO the biggest part of this success so far is Masai Ujuri taking Colangelo’s spot

“Patrick Patterson swiped an awful pass from Deron Williams, and then rattled in the game-winning jumper”

..Seriously? That’s what slam has to say huh. Haha get outta here, how about they predicted the play, Patterson read DWill like a book& pump faked him out of his shoes- then NAILED the game winner.

Trying to downplay that shii.. Great win for the Raps& good heart from the young ones to stay in it!
