Steve Nash Documents Comeback in Grantland’s ‘The Finish Line’ (VIDEO)

Grantland, in conjunction with filmmaker Jonathan Hock (a longtime friend of SLAM), released a fascinating look at Steve Nash’s ongoing injury struggles as he contemplates life after basketball. If you’re a basketball junkie, it’s definitely worth your time.

I’ve always liked Nash, but the NBA is no country for old man.

Brilliant movie. I remember a great scene between Tommy Lee Jones and and old guy towards the end.

And the guy says something that Nash may need to hear: “What you got is nothing new. This country (NBA) is hard on people. You can’t stop what’s coming. (old age and retirement). Ain’t no waiting on you. That;s vanity.”

seriously this is awesome. and it makes aging a terrifying mountain i’m not ready to start thinking about climbing.

Gettin’ old. Just ain’t no future in it.

That was great, but there’s no ‘comeback’. Nashty is old and I’m glad he has a chance to prove us wrong but I hope he makes up his mind soon. As much as LA fans hated him when they were sweeping us in the first round, I truly hope he gets back to the game and lets his timeless game prove us all wrong.

I just turned 35, and THE WORST part of aging is losing to guys who have nothing on you except youth and healthy joints.

  • Saleem Rainman

that was awesome. if u arent cheerin for him to get to a workable state after that then i dont even know what to say to you

    Cormac McCarthy is the best.

I was never a big fan of Nash. I just became one though. I really hope I can see him play just one more season at least.

Fascinating piece of filmmaking. Well edited & directed. Nash = one of the all-time greats.
