Pee Next to an NBA Player

Plus: Where’s Mo Williams going?

by Marcel Mutoni

-Milwaukee is pleading with Mo Williams to stay. Reportedly, there’s a 5 year/$40 million deal on the table. Should he leave via free agency, it would be a huge loss for the franchise. Dude’s a cold-blooded baller.

-The Knicks have found themselves a shooter in Demetris Nichols.

-Ross Siler of the Salt Lake Tribune wants Utah to sign second-round draft pick Kyrylo Fesenko … because the guy provides great blog fodder:

He said he was in Ukraine, but told a story of the first time he got behind the wheel. Somehow he started in a field, but wound up nearly driving off a cliff with his girlfriend in the car.

“Her face like white,” he said.

He’s a funny guy, too. Asked how he spent practice on the sidelines, Fesenko said he “rode bicycle to Ukraine.”

(What’s with the Jazz attracting all of these quirky Euros?)

-If C-Webb can’t resign with the Pistons, he’d like to play for the Mavs, says Marc Stein. Desperate for a ring much?

-And finally for today, we visit Chris Sheridan’s Vegas notes (thanks to Lang for the tip):

The contest for the most tattooed player appears to be a dead heat between Kevin Pittsnogle, who is playing for Cleveland, and Robert Swift, who is still rehabbing his surgically reconstructed knee but is in town with the Sonics. Swift has also grown his hair long and is wearing it in a ponytail, and he appears to be quite a bit thicker.

Plus, my favorite anecdote:

The games during the first three days have been played at the Cox Pavilion, next to the Thomas and Mack Center, and there are no locker-room facilities for the teams. So whenever one of the players needs to answer nature’s call, he must use the same men’s room (there is only one in the building) that the fans are using.

(Talk about a close encounter.)

A close encounter of the first kind?

Hey Marcel, can you make sure I never see a picture of Robert Swift ever again? K, THX.

I was psyched to read this about Swift in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer: “In addition to a couple of pounds, Swift also added more tattoos, including a machine gun on his right arm.” I think I know what jersey I’m buying next.

Do they have higher urinals in an NBA locker room than in a public restroom? Do they have a kiddie one in the NBA locker room? Or is the kiddie one like a regular one in a pucblic restroom?

    You mean a Lupica?

  • FLUXLAND

Wow.. Russ you sure you didn’t miss your calling? Some pretty funny stuff on these web pages.

Why can’t CWebb sign for the biannual exception ro the Bulls? He’d have as good a chance to go to the fianls as with any other team, he would actually help the team, thus earning his ring, if there is one in his future, and he wouldn’t have to play ANY D, with all those guy’s covering for him.

I know I dubbed the little urinals “Lupicas” while at Madison Square Garden a few years back. It was one of my prouder moments. And FLUX, who knows? Oh yeah, and I’d take Webb on the Bulls in a heartbeat.

“(What’s with the Jazz attracting all of these quirky Euros?)” Uhm, a morose, all-white population, weather similar to Eastern Europe, etc. I wonder what the link might be…

I hope a chance to play for a chip and the South Beach lifestyle appeals to Mo. But, I understand if it’s “mo” money. Still, dude is young and will be due another big contract at around 26 or 27 years old. I can totally see him alongside DWade for several years to come. Like MJ and Scottie? Okay, I know y’all are gonna let me have it for that comparison. C’mon, I can take it. :-)
