Sonics Want to Go Federal

Lawyers for the Sonics and Storm want the city’s lawsuit against them to go to Federal court.

Man. I feel for fans in Seattle. If you don’t go to games, you give the scumbag owners all the reason in the world to move the team. And if you DO go to games, you put money in their pockets. If Stern was a real commissioner, he’d demote them to the D-League unless they got all this crap settled. Like, yesterday.

I vote they have the trial inside Key Arena, and then implode the building while it’s going on. Problem solved.

Man Russ, that’s violent… I don’t understand this whole situation. I feel like the owners took it personal when the city wouldn’t give them money for a new gym, stupid

As a Seattle fan, I have to agree with Russ…only I actually like Key Arena. I don’t really mind where they get blown to bits. When is Stern going to weigh in on this issue!?

Here’s what Stern had to say yesterday: “There doesn’t seem to be a lot of movement on a new building. We always hope that there will be [progress between] the two sides. The team has started an arbitration and the city has started a litigation. Welcome again to NBA 101, which is about lawyers. I don’t want to knock lawyers, having been one myself. But it’s not at all pleasant [in Seattle]. Hopefully, good things will happen once we throw the ball up in the regular season and take people’s minds off the sidebars.” Basically, a whole lot of political nothing. Step up for the true Supe fans, Stern-bot…
