Gilbert Says Look Out for … Kwame?

Yes, that Kwame: “In the past he had the spot light on him because he was a No. 1 pick and he was in these big markets, but now he can just go out and play hard and blend in. This is going to be his year.”

(Gil, as usual, has all kinds of good stuff in his latest blog post, including the admission that he’ll be housing some illegal sharks in his home.)

Oh please Gilbert. Please get of the blogmania for a few months ok? You are overexposed, and Kwame “brickhands” Brown (sorry Eboy) makes this his year, when you average 9 assists a game.

I sell my dog is that happens.

  • WhaHuh

Gilbert has always been kwames good friend. Why are people up in arms now? I remember a story where Gil coverd for Kwame after missing a practice in his Wizard days.

dude has no heart and is more into being a club promotion tool then a ball player.

where did my cake go? i set it down right here just a second ago……..DARN! WHY IS MY CAKE IN THE STREET??!!!??!! according to phil jackson, i should have expected this.

  • KMoe

Well, I looked at this situation with a lot of reservation at first. But Joe Dumars is your GM’s favorite GM and the Piston organization is good at getting the best out of unwanted talent. If Brown can keep his feet (stay out of foul trouble) and stay healthy, he could be an asset. 10 and 6 was his best season avg. Anything close to that would be a plus.

big markets? didn’t realzie mempphis was a megatropolis.

he’ll ride the bench the minute curry realizes the guy cant hold on to a ball

  • B. Long

As weird as this sounds, he may be right.

the only thing good Kwame will bring to Detroit is all bakery sales will increase by 15% before the season starts and after it ends. And until Kwame follows the yellow brick road to go to Oz and ask for some heart, he will suck. If he gets that winning desire or if KG sneezes on him, Kwame could become a lethal weapon like Mel Gibson (except Kwame doesnt hate jews)

  • ciolkstar

I actually agree with Gil (and B. Long)on this one. He’ll play decent defense and rebound, just dont try passing him the ball under the hoop (or at all really) The pressure seemed to really be getting to him in LA. I remember watching that game(right after Bynum got hurt) where he had like 10 turnovers, the crowd would start boing before he even touched the ball. Brutal.

ive been saying the same thing.. Darko too. Cept Darko should just go back to europe

If he thinks Jordan was bad on riding him, just wait till he gets a listen to Sheed in practice.

  • NYCBalla

    Gilberto is dope!

  • B. Long

@Tad: After Sheed somehow morphed into Dirk for the last couple of playoff games last year, he doesn’t need to be riding anybody.

There’s another reason I don’t vote – I don’t want jury duty. If you’re not registered to vote, you can’t get jury duty. I know that campaign Diddy had a couple years ago, “Vote or Die,” yeah if the alternative is jury duty, I’m going to die. –Hilarious

  • Nad

So the Pistons drafted Darco AND signed Kwame , something is not right I tell you!

  • Diogo

    So…where are the Darko predictions?

  • http://www.slamonline.com Russ Bengtson

Kwame is 26 years old. I can’t imagine him suddenly and miraculously becoming a competent NBA player.

  • http://www.nba.com/celtics/ Moose

wow, gil. i will believe it when i see it.

  • Godzilla

Kwame Kunta Kinte Brown? Hell No! Hahaha..you funny gilberto.

  • Niio

@ B.Long: Yeah I noticed that ‘Sheed hasn’t got it done the last couple of years in the playoffs.. (Dirk)Besides that on play against the Spurs for the and 1 that sent them to the finals… Has Dirk ever been clutch when it really mattered?

  • Boing Dynasty

wasnt Ben Wallace around the same age when he found his niche with the pistons? your telling me kwame cant stand in the post and block/alter a couple shots, grab some boards and brick countless jumpers as well a big ben?

  • chintao

Polka-dots are back! Oh wait, wrong Kwame….

  • tk

this could definitely work. not heat getting shaq and eventually a chip work or kg to the celts work but tyson chandler to new orleans work. he won’t be the free agent that will put us over the top but hes a much needed addition to a team that is limited on defense and reboundin(if he avoids foul trouble) which we definitely lack, outside of maxi and dyess!
