Word on the street is that the Rockets will employ him at the power forward spot.
Read the SLAMonline Discussion Rules before posting.
I would have stuck him at small forward:
3. Ron Ron
and Battier off the bench.
this was first reported by Hollinger last week, he said his “spies” down in houston told him…not sure how credible it is
bad idea. just a bad idea. Ken’s lineup made the most sence. Hollinger’s spies have about as much credit as a loan defaulter. Do not trust Hollinger’s sources because he has none that arent imaginary friends and after they tell him all they know, they play dolls and drink imaginary tea!
John Hollinger has spies? wow. Does Daniel Craig don’ Rockets Warmups, shoot a tranquilizer dart at the janitors… Does he by any chance hold a PPK at the head of the head coach and give him a look that simply states “…HOLLINGER NEEDS THE SCOOP, WHHHHEREE WILL RON PLAY” in christian bales batman voice? ugh, i’m sick of hollinger and his PER b*tchass
Ken’s lineup does make the most sence.
I also agree with Ken…that is what I pictured after the trade was made. Of course coaches are always messing with lineups. So I am sure this may change.
That might be the best line up to finish games, but i’m hoping they mix it up more, if they load up the starting lineup it may limit the effectivenss of Scola because he won’t get the ball enough. Barry also needs the bulk of his minutes with Yao. That lineup would still leave them with an anemic second unit, so hopefuly Scola or Artest will get most of their minutes as back ups. Ideally, i’d love to see them just constantly rotating guys in and out of every position except the 5.
If the lineup isn’t Ken’s I’m not going to waste my time looking at it. That’s the starting lineup that we will see, up until someone gets hurt.
i would love to see the lineup as such:
1.Steve Francis(healthy)[doubt it though]
Skip -sixth man
2.T-Mac(healthy)[doubt it also]
Luther Head/Bones -backup
3.Ron Arthest(not suspended)[doubt]
5.Yao (healthy)[probably not]
Deke”plays bingo on Wed. nights”Mutombo-backup
I said he would play PF a couple of weeks ago, go check the old comments
Rick Adelman likes to run and gun, so I think he will put him at the 4. If so, the lineup will be:
^^^^^^^^ Thats a f*cking nice, championship caliber line-up. Whaddup H-Town!
This also gives the Rockets an awesome, scrappy and tough as nails bench, including: Luis Scola, Joey Dorsey, Carl Landry (if he doesn’t go to Europe?), Brent Barry, Deke, Aaron Brooks, Steve Novak, and Luther Head. Damn son..
Hayes…Francis….Deke, might not resign, i think he wants more money..
RV: He deserved it. And will continue to.
Diogo, do you mean he deserves more money thanhe’s being offered now, or more than he made last year? At his age he doesn’t deserve more than last year
4.Big Shot Brob
@ Joe: old stevie franchise over rafer alston? i dont think so . . .
Moose, Rafer is actually older than steve…
steve francis was SICK back in his prime. its ashame we can’t see him like he used to be.
oand Novak just got traded, so maybe it opens up a spot for mike harris.
not officially, but kind of like Artest, sources say he was traded to the clips, for a secound round pick i believe.
If Adelman is creative enough, I could see him altering his starters based upon the competition. Facing a team with a true power forward, he might go with Scola at the 4, whereas against a team with someone who’s less of a banger, he could start Battier at the PF. Naturally, this runs the risk of disrupting chemistry….
Hmm, can you play Nellie ball with a 7’6″ center? Isn’t Ron just a crazier version of Battier?
Who guards Tim Duncan/Amare?
mad max made his mma debut the other night in san lorenzo, ca…it was crazy
Scola cant start yet…try atleast by allstar break…
woulda put t mac at point battier or ron ron at 2 or 3 scola at 4 n yao at 5
Houston still sucks -> and I´d love to see them having some success, especially T-mac. But come on RonRon is overrated -> I bet Battier is a better baller. Artest is just a drama-queen…
