The League All But Confirmed ‘OKC Thunder’ Name

The clues were all over the NBA’s official website yesterday, but to no one’s surprise, they’re gone today.

    Good luck coming up with a logo for Thunder.And most NBA teams have awful names.

    Izzo, you can only make one logo: a cloud with some lightning. Every team in the history of sports named Thunder had that one. Or they will revisit one of the worst logos in the NBA ever: the Warriors dude with a lightning bolt in his hands or something. Yikes.

    Gerard, the name, word, itself isn’t that bad, but based on the options they had it looks like their leaning toward WNBA-like names. Can you imagine if we had the Boston Revolution, the Chicago Wind? The names started getting bad since the Heat and magic came to the league.

    Ok so on my blog I had a poll for which name would be best and the name Marshalls won by 2 votes. Then Thunder and Barons tied at second. Personally, I thought Thunder would have been a good name – but the best name would have to be SUPERSONICS.

    Jazz is one of the best names ever, it just makes no sense because the team moved from New Orleans to Utah. The NBA really needs to give the name back to New Orleans, let OKC be the Hornets, and make Utah the Mormons.
