The Grizzlies Would, in Fact, Like to Score Less

That’s the only conclusion I can draw from their latest offensive strategy.

(Thanks to Ben Collins for the tip.)

Sharing the offensive load…what, are they planning on resurrecting Toine to relevance again?

As a Grizz fan, I would like to see Conley or someone else be able to score. As a realist, though, it won’t work.

    Ovinton J’Anthony Mayo!!

i think the young gasol is a better defender than his brother. but i cant see conley, mayo, warrick and gay using their athleticism for defense. these guys were born to score.

Lowest assist total in the league. OJ Mayo is NOT a PG, I think that’s been made pretty obvious.

Mayo shouldn’t shoot less, he needs to keep it up. If you’re averaging 21 PPG as a rook, you should keep it up.

Right, even when it deprives his teammates from getting into any rhythm what-so-ever. Great point, Moose, great point.

They would, in fact, like next year’s number one overall pick.

it’s not that bad jukai. he’s shooting 45% right now which is pretty good

davidR – It’s not so much about percentages as it is about sharing the possessions and getting comfortable with the ball, the court, the pace… When playing centres or powerforwards that seem to have brick-hands you need to get them the ball 3 or 4 times just to get used to holding the rock….

    I thought Kwame left Memphis?

  • Tommy Vercetti

I think they are trying to win the lottery this year. You can’t knock their hustle either because their getting an early start.

It has nothing to do with wanting these guys to score less. It has to do with the fact that they both try to go one on one with other players rather than actually running plays. They take way to difficult attempts and they often make them but that is just b/c they are good not b/c they are shots they should take.

They will continue to put up the same scoring numbers if not more if OJ and Rudy learn to become Part of the Offense rather than Being the Offense.

Oh and this has nothing to do with trying to lose to get the #1 pick we’ve tried that the last two years and it blew up in our face both times so we actually seem to not care about the odds anymore.

    more Darko touches!

someone will have to fallback..and i know it wont be gay…so some one needs to sacrifice thier game for the win..
