so why can’t they pay the same amount of money to get rid of him? that’s the puzzling part. isn’t that freaking sunk cost?

  • ciolkstar Posted: Dec.4 at 2:05 pm
I wonder what proportion of those numbers comes from merchandise? Don’t think Knicks also own MSG and a TV station though?

  • ciolkstar Posted: Dec.4 at 2:06 pm
Yao and TMac do suck (now) and so does the traffic in H Town…but its a cool city.

  • Ryan Jones Posted: Dec.4 at 3:14 pm
Is anyone sure that “value” equals “money in the bank”? Because I’m not exactly sure that’s the case…

  • Moose Posted: Dec.4 at 3:30 pm
    Jeez . . . . . . .

  • davidR Posted: Dec.4 at 5:07 pm
this analysis makes no sense, and the title of this post is misleading. since when did we start measuring a company’s profitability based on their “value?”

  • davidR Posted: Dec.4 at 5:11 pm
i’m not sure what that first number means

  • davidR Posted: Dec.4 at 5:12 pm
(the “value” of a team based on their arena deal NOT INCLUDING what they owe). you have to check their net income to see their “value”, or the income after all the taxes, interests, etc. if you wanna check how much money they have, check their financial statements.

  • davidR Posted: Dec.4 at 5:13 pm
gotdamn, had to post all of that in 3 different comments because i couldn’t figure out what was causing my comment not to post. it was the word D*BT, replace the * with an E

  • davidR Posted: Dec.4 at 5:15 pm
with all that said, it’s interesting to see that denver is most likely losing a ton of money based on their current arena deal, and the signs point to chicago making more money than new york (based on their arena deal).

  • Hursty Posted: Dec.4 at 5:21 pm
Yeh have a look at the Boston stats. BANDWAGON supporters I tells ya! Go Houston!

  • Moose Posted: Dec.4 at 6:49 pm
Hursty, how can you say that sh!t when one of your blogmates is a serious and sincere (not bandwagoner) fan of them? Come on, homie! ;)

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Dec.4 at 7:51 pm
    @ Simon S.Y Lawy: You’re a f*cking retard. Don’t start it… Racist b!tch.

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Dec.4 at 7:54 pm
@ ciolkstar: Are you sh!tting me? Yao dominated Dwight Howard in their last match up. Oh but wait, lets listen to your idiotic @ss and assume Yao sucks now. NOT (Just in case you can’t comprehend sarcasm).

  • Roy Posted: Dec.4 at 8:23 pm
    Damn….

  • chintao Posted: Dec.5 at 3:57 am
@ ciolkstar ==> I’m not sure if this is what you are asking, but the Knicks do not own MSG or the MSG Network. Cablevision owns those things. Cablevision also owns the Knicks, which might be causing the confusion here. Basically though, the money from MSG and MSG Network will not show for the Knicks on the chart that we’re all looking at.

  • chintao Posted: Dec.5 at 4:00 am
Also, these numbers don’t appear to deal with merchandizing. Does that go through the League, or something?

  • chintao Posted: Dec.5 at 4:02 am
Co-sign davidR @ Dec.4 at 5:15 pm. It looks like the Nugs might have to move to a new city soon.
