No Justice Without Sin
Shaq in (film) noir and red.
If we ranked Shaquille O’Neal in terms of his work on the silver screen, it’s safe to say he’s somewhere above Dennis Rodman and somewhere under Ray Allen. But when it comes to the hardwood, Shaquille O’Neal has always been a guaranteed box office draw. With the theater in mind, Ish 109 featured both Shaq and Dirk Nowitzki standing in shadow and stark backgrounds. And, as it happens, Shaq and Sin City have more in common than one might think. Sin City draws heavily from its successful predecessor (film noir) and improves upon it. Shaq is making new benchmarks, set originally by the League’s all-time great centers. Both are so unique, they may go down as one of a kind.
But most importantly, the Sin City colorization scheme was dope. Sharp reds, yellows and blues make stark contrast with clearly separate black and whites, bringing attention to certain characters. O’Neal’s red and black Heat jersey made for a perfect movie poster look-alike.
