Robert Swift: Mr. Misunderstood

Here’s Robert on the world’s reaction to his appearance: “Not even just with fans, just with people in general,” Swift said. ”People that don’t even watch basketball see tattoos and they don’t like it. Why do people dye their hair? Why do people get earrings? It’s just what people like. It’s a very broad generalization, but a lot of people don’t like or are afraid of things that they don’t understand or things that they want to do but never had the courage to do. So they automatically get mad at somebody that has the courage to do it.”

  • James The Balla Posted: Jan.5 at 10:07 am
But I wouldn’t call it courage lol

Robert, you could come out of the locker room naked with your hair on fire and nobody would care. You’re just another marginal NBA player who’s going to have to learn a foreign language soon. Also, you’re apparently a pretentious jerk. Yes, we just don’t UNDERSTAND you. Right.

It’s the same thing with dreadlocks. People think that others with dreads are j@ilbird p0theads, and it p!sses me off. I don’t know if Swift is credible here, I’m just bringing my ideas in here.

I like Robert Swift a lot more after this response.
Although he still is a weird looking bastard.

when i first saw him in the all-american game he looked kinda dorky, now he looks really badass,i like his current look

  • Josh D Posted: Jan.5 at 2:20 pm
No, people don’t like his tatoos because he seems to spend more time getting them than playing Basketball, there must be some Oklahoman tatoo business which has seen huge profits since the Thunder came to town

  • Cub Buenning Posted: Jan.5 at 3:24 pm
He probably gets all his ink in Bakersfield. I know a hundred dudes that look like Swift, one being one of the most loved athletes around, Chris Anderson. Personality, demeanor, and vibe turn people on/off.

  • Dacre Posted: Jan.6 at 6:08 pm
    He wrestles.

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jan.6 at 8:34 pm
He started tonight against the Knicks, TTFKATSS are on fire, and best I could tell he didn’t do ANYTHING. I probably just don’t understand him, though.

  • Dacre Posted: Jan.7 at 8:24 pm
Mind games Russ…its about the mind games out there….

ok so I was browsing through espn’s website and happen to come across Rob’s pic…..never heard of him or seen him. besides his illustrious orange! hair : D, his tattoo’s are one of the most attractive things on the guy.
    Tattoo: an art expression
if he wants to tattoo his body up that’s his prerogative…..and he’s right people ridicule because their confused and don’t understand his form of expression. : /

  • christen Posted: Jul.15 at 9:24 am
i think he has more skills than the rest of you, he is still playing ball isnt he, hes apparently enough of an asset to keep in the league after 2 injuries. alot of ridicule can be taken as a compliment i think in his case, people are paying attention because hes different and because hes out there doing his thing and better than most people out there in his position, there might only be a handful of superstars but without the team you wouldnt have a superstar so personally i think all of you can suck it until i see you out there on the court for 3 contracts and 2 injuries later. he might be a pretentious asshole, but hes a player and hes young and hes still going…and he looks pretty damn good doing it no matter how well hes doing it at the time.-by the way seattle doesnt have a team anymore because the majority of the fans and owners werent s***, why dont you move your criticisms on to more ridiculous things like golf, and tennis…
