Jay Triano’s Future With the Raptors

Hanging in the balance: “Everyone seems to want the respected, level-headed Canadian-born coach of the nation’s only NBA team to succeed, though many can’t see Colangelo doing it, based on the losses and several ‘name’ coaches likely to be available this summer. Triano insisted that future employment is not keeping him up at night. ‘I’ll coach somewhere,’ he said. ‘If I coach down the street at a high school, I’ve got notes on my experience this year. I don’t need to be here, I can be anywhere I want. I coached at the (Simon Fraser) University and enjoyed that and I coached the national team and enjoyed that. (But) I’m not ever going to quit anything (here).’”

    Get Eddie Jordan!

Great guy, and I’ve agreed with almost every move he’s made, from defensive/offensive schemes to how he treats the players, but no wins doesn’t help.

i think if he had a chance with a revised roster and a fresh season, Triano could do well for the Raps, but BC’s ass is on the line so i’m betting he’ll bring in one of the big names in waiting

Of course he’s never going to quit and forfeit the money, better to be fired and get paid to do something else.

A positive coaching change could turn the Raptors into a relevant team come next year. Bring in Ettore Messina!

shoulda kept sam. atleast with sam our record was respectable. since Triano was named head coach we’ve probably been the worst team in the NBA.

Damn it sucks being a Raps fan. A few years of being horrible, in comes BC, improvement to mediocrity and whoops, back we go. I can’t even bring myself to watch most of their games this season.
