Amare Does Not Miss D`Antoni and Porter

Nope, not at all: “Stoudemire said he was frustrated that Porter didn’t allow him to show off the things he had worked on last summer, primarily his ball-handling skills. He also said Porter was a `my way or the highway` coach who `wasn’t really accepting of what we (the players) thought would work.` As for D’Antoni, Stoudemire said, `He sometimes wouldn’t talk to certain players, which sometimes can be a little frustrating because you want to build that relationship with a coach and be his friend.` In contrast, Stoudemire had nothing but praise for Gentry, who he called a players’ coach. `You want a coach you can hug and hold and high-five and really have fun with,` Stoudemire said. `That makes it fun to play.`”

Give him a full season, and lets see what he says about Gentry when they start losing.

Amare just wants someone to hold.

if you want a coach you can hold, raise your hand. if you play women’s basketball, you’re excluded.

he should really be dissing Kerr, who has destroyed that franchise, great commentator though, wish he would go back to TNT and let someone with a clue be GM….

So Porter was not cool because he didn’t let him cross people up? GET A POST UP GAME FIRST AND WE’LL SEE ABOUT THE BALL HANDLING STUFF LATER.

. . . you had me at “ball-handling” right Amare, right.

what a dick! Absolute whiner. First the pouting cause he wasn’t “the man” on a loaded suns team. Lack of heart on D. Lack of a post go to move. Lack of leadership, then the whining reported around allstar break, now this? Hug, high five? Daddy issues STAT? Ask Bynum or CP3 if their coaches hug them lovingly!! You played alongside a reborn lowpost threat and couldn’t utilize that “improved jumper” you’ve been spouting about since ’07 to get enough scoring done? I’m dissapointed, Amar’é (or whatever). Talk is cheap, dude

Whoa. That comment about holding and hugging was a little awkward.

Why would Stoudemire need a low-post game? When the Suns weren’t force-feeding Shaq the ball, I’d say Amare was pretty dominant on offense…

  • http://www.manutd.com Z

why? because he’s their primary big and they can’t throw the ball him at the end of games and say ‘go get buckets’. that’s why.

Bring your goggles and you might be some tasty trade bait.

  • Teddy-the-Bear

@ Darksaber: Why shouldn’t Amare be the man on the Suns? Really, he SHOULD be the primary scorer. Name a better scorer on the Suns than Amare Stoudemire.
And @ Z: They CAN and DO throw him the ball at the end of games, and he DOES “get buckets”… However, most of the times they force feed the ball to Shaq in games.

amare has been proving he can do it all on offence, he should work on defence… or in other words growing up. this isnt a day care STAT. this is a buisness, grow up.. HUGGIN? god man, your messed up.

Get outta here…you watch this team put together another 60 win season next year with everyone back on the same page, Amare getting his 28 ppg, Nash back up to 18 and 11. If they are able to get some improvement at the back up PG and PF spots this team will be awesome once more! They’ll be hugging and holding all season long!

    Can’t play D.

  • KoBynum716

amare’s gotta get traded already. he’s too good to play for the phoenix fugayze’s anymore

If only there were an NBA team in Vermont, then Amare could move there to get legal with his coach.
