Eazy Yi on the Move?

The NY Daily News says Jianlian may have played his last game in The Swamp: “Coming off a season when he was demoted from the Nets’ starting lineup to the bench because of his lack of production, Yi Jianlian might have played his final game in New Jersey. Team sources say the Nets are interested in trying to deal the 7-foot small forward they acquired from Milwaukee last summer for Richard Jefferson. ‘They’re talking about moving him,” said a source. Yi’s struggles to improve his defense, rebounding and passing under Lawrence Frank didn’t sit well with GM Kiki Vandeweghe, who engineered the deal with the Bucks. Yi averaged 8.6 points and 5.3 rebounds in 23 minutes per game, but was often privately criticized for looking only to shoot.”

I still have faith in Yi Jianlian. Boston, make the move.

  • Gerard Himself Posted: May.18 at 12:21 pm
As a Nets fan: yes! Trade Yi.

  • Mendel Posted: May.18 at 12:58 pm

Boston’s answer to that “big” 3 they missed? Could be Moose…Mikki, Big Baby, and some draft picks might tempt them

  • kwame Posted: May.18 at 1:38 pm
i have faith in the dude…just give him the right coaching and system

  • ciroqobama Posted: May.18 at 2:57 pm

of he were european he’d go back to europe problem is he’s chinese and no sane man wants to play in china… asians girls are fine don’t get me wrong but still no internet or little to none websites to visit. cencorschip with almost everything. plus they’d kill him for coming back. so he better sign an MLE somewhere. he’s still a little stiff. maybe he should call dwigh howard and ask for some tips to get big cuz on finese he’s not gonna make it.

  • rav Posted: May.18 at 4:39 pm
i guess the team that will trade for him will be one desperate for more tickets bought from the asian community

  • DONONE Posted: May.18 at 5:00 pm
nice, he’d be a nice scquisition for the c’s….

Eazy Yi needs a coach/team to really motivate him, and push him to that next level. Skillwise he’s pretty decent, but he tends to coast through the NBA season. A coach/team demeanor like the Celtics (sigh) would really push and beat him up into playing with motivation. That’s a good thing.

ab_40 is the reason why some commenters need to be banned.

  • that dude Posted: May.18 at 7:36 pm
Why should ab_40 be banned? Not the most intelligent comment but he’s free to speak his mind. Yi is a b*tch… spoon fed by his coaches in China

  • Tavoris Posted: May.18 at 7:53 pm
    Nikoloz Tskitishvili part deux

  • Jacob Posted: May.18 at 7:55 pm
if Yi went to boston, KG would scream at him so much it would make him wanna leave….it’ll be like big baby 2.0!!!! only worse!!!!!!!!

  • Tavoris Posted: May.18 at 7:58 pm
If Yi can’t defend enuf to play in NJ, then he definitely won’t get time in Boston.

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: May.18 at 10:16 pm
@ that dude: Your comment just answered my question.

  • Quail Posted: May.18 at 10:23 pm

“still no internet or little to none websites to visit” – I’ve heard alot of crap being said about China, that one ranks near the top.

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: May.19 at 12:09 am
    LOL nice one, Dave.

  • Anton Posted: May.19 at 12:26 am
No matter where he goes, he’ll be an all-star next season for sure.

This seems ripe for the Clippers.

  • Jarrod Posted: May.19 at 4:43 am
I’m pretty sure you can visit the same websites in China than an other country in the world.

  • Dutch Rob Posted: May.19 at 9:41 am
if Yi becomes an all star next season. Vince will become his old self and dunk right over him.

  • Seven Duece Posted: May.19 at 3:28 pm
Somewhere, Don Nelson just jizzed his pants. Actually a Yi for Brandon Wright trade would be nice for both.

  • niQ Posted: May.19 at 11:16 pm
yi just needs to get more experience. you guys are judging him too early.

  • nate the great Posted: May.20 at 2:16 am
@ niQ – who are we talking about? Who is Yi? he plays baskteball?
    news to me.
    on second news.
    CLIPPER’S!
    eric gordon now has help!

  • JE Posted: May.20 at 3:54 am
Yi’s a bust. I really don’t think he’ll do any more in the NBA than he’s already done. The day he makes the All-Star game is the day the Chinese government needs to include All-Star voting in their online censorship.
