Turkoglu Opting Out of Contract

Well, that didn’t take long: “The agent for Hedo Turkoglu told the Sentinel on Monday that the Orlando Magic small forward will opt out of his contract and become a free agent in two weeks. ‘It would make sense for him to opt out,’ Lon Babby, Turkoglu’s agent said by phone. ‘I can’t imagine a scenario in which he would not.’”

Unsurprising. So, where’s he end up is the real question?

    Hedo+Mike Bibby= Bimbo

  • http://www.hibachi20.blogspot.com BETCATS

Will he stay? Maybe Hedo, Maybe Hedont

  • Tyrone Shoelaces

hahah ok that was good BET. I’m not really concerned about where Hedo will go, i’m more curious about which way the Magic will go if he decides to leave. Do they keep putting shooters around Dwight, or do they make a move for a 2nd tier PF and focus on D and have rashard slide to the 3? Either way I think Hedo was too integral a part of the Magic for them to make a finals run next year.

He’ll stay in Orlando. They’ll pay him tne most, and no GM said, “Hey, let’s clear cap space for Hedo Turkoglu.”

If you don’t think Cleveland and Detroit will throw all kinds of money to Turk, you’re crazy.

  • underdog

If Orlando let him go, they should sign a real power forward and let Shard play as a guard.

  • Royal

If Hedo goes to the Cavs then they will be a serious problem

  • riggs

    a problem for lebron james.

  • neaorin

Sign & trade with Portland for some expirings. The Magic have too much money committed to Lewis and they should try to resign Gortat.

  • Mike

Sign and trade with the nets for vince carter

Who (opts out of his contract to get some $$$) do? Hedo!

  • Prison Mike

Maybe hedo and ariza should sign and be traded for each other

  • luke

If the Lakers concentrate on resigning Ariza more than Odom,Magic should let Hedo go and throw a bunch of money at Odom.Play him at the 4 and Shard can go back to his normal 3 position.

  • niQ

COME TO THE RAPTORS!! okay, on another note. think Orlando should definitely try to keep Hedo. I mean, SOMETHING must have been working to get to the finals, right? Two 6’10 shooters and a Dwight is a match up headache for anyone.

no, i dont want hedo on the blazers, i rather have them trade and get tayshaun at the sf.

  • $tev3

    Hedo to 0KC

  • Hicksy

Bring him to the Spurs just what we need another
guys who is a liability on D with no athleticism but he would be a MAJOR upgrade on Finley.

  • Quail

sign and trade hedo to the clippers for Zach Randolph. that’d work perfectly cuz the magic would get an actual PF, and the clippers would have room for Blake Griffin and they could put Thornton as the 6th. can i get an amen?

  • http://www.lkz.ch Darksaber

Hedo to Miami for Jamario. Nice to give Wade some firepower, but then again, the Heat are weak in the frontcourt already, so maybe not.

  • seven deuce

Good now that he’s gone, they can make an offer to Lamar. That will be an upgrade!

  • http://nbainchina.com NBA China

Quail, I like that idea but I don’t think the Magic can afford another crazy overpaid player like Randolph.

  • ser B

he can stay in orlando if otis smith sends rafer alston to save money and gives turk a 12K per year contract. courtney lee, jameer nelson and reddick is enough for guard position…

  • #6marjon

they need to get rid of him and they need to keep both point guards good backups are hard to come by in this league if you can get a started to be a back up your job is easy why not play them both?
they need a slasher though or play courtney lee more to wreak havoc by looking to score when he gets in the lane
damn they would have won championship if i had coached them

  • Gerhard

Hedo can go where the money calls him to go. What Orlando should think about is Stunned BANNED GONEdy (did I spell his name right?). It was not impressive how he guided (or should I say mis-guided) the team in the finals. Like the PG post. Yes, Nelson may have been in the all-star line-up, but he wasn’t ready to play.

    hedo to portland
