Phil Jackson: Not Always so Zen Master-y

Not when dealing with Hollywood types, anyway (video available here): “During one game, Jonah Hill recalled, the HBO comedy ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ was filming and the crew asked Hill if it could briefly use Hill’s seats. Hill moved two seats over, waited for the film crew to complete its business, then moved back to his original seat. ‘All of a sudden,’ Hill said, ‘Phil Jackson, who’s never looked in our direction, turns to us and says, ‘Hey, this isn’t musical chairs! Next time you move around during a play I’ll kick you . . . out of here! It was the most terrible feeling because I look up to this guy so much.’”

Quite an outburst. Almost as good as: “Do you want me to trash your lights? DO YOU WANT ME TO F*CKING TRASH ‘EM?!!!!”

Phil is no more Mr. Nice Guy. Anybody seen him telling D’Antoni: “WTF, sit down!” at the end of a game when he was calling a timeout? This was during the LA/Phoenix series I think.

Maybe the seating wouldn’t be so crowded if Phil downsized his giant throne a bit.

No wonder Rambis can’t ever sit in the Jax Back Spasm Throne, even if Phil is out getting treatment or not even in the building anymore. “Sh*t ain’t musical chairs.”

  • Clark Kent

@Teddy-the-Bear, that was at the beginning of the 2007-2008 season when Phil punked out D’Antoni.

  • Teddy-the-Bear

    Oh, okay. Thanks Clark.

  • Teddy-the-Bear

    LOL @ Blinguo.

Next time he should just stick to insulting Oakland and Sacramento like the pompous arse he is.

riggs – it was DURING an f-in game! Ya think jerking around in the front row isn’t distracting? It’s a competition not a f-in film studio! You woulda told him huh – 1st you nevah would been in them $2000/game seats and if you were then you woulda been tossed. Would been great on ESPN highlights!

Hey here’s a new idea, why not ban the celebrity types from sitting in the front row, thus erasing the need for series camera-crews to jostle around the sidelines and distract the so called Meister? Yeah, let’s do that, and see how fascinating Staples Center stays for the rest of the world… not like they keep getting free publicity everytime a show like Entourage shows them running up and down…
