Courtney Lee Still Sad About Trade to NJ

You’d be heartbroken too if you had to leave sunny Orlando for Jersey: “According to Dwight Howard, Lee’s good friend on the Magic, the young 6-foot-5 wing still is hurting about being traded from Orlando to the Nets. Howard said he spoke with Lee Wednesday. ‘He’s still a little bit upset about getting traded,’ said Howard,..’He’s hurting. He’s not just upset, he’s hurting,’ Howard said. ‘He found a home in Orlando. He was like my ‘big little brother’ so we were always together. He was sad about it.’”

As a Nets fan I first thought after the trade: well, at least we got Lee. Now, I’m not so sure.

As if you can’t live in Manhattan and play for the Nets…its like a 15 minute drive

Lee’s already nice and gonna be for quite some time. NJ is lucky that they landed him, especially when you’re thinking about the future. I’d probably be sad leaving Dwight Howard, too, though.

Ryan Anderson is no Courtney Lee, I’ll tell you that much.

I haven’t seen a player this messed up by a trade since Francis got taken away from his bf Mobley.

MAYBE if he made that game winning lay up at the end of game 2 he would still be in Orlando.

Man, I feel bad for this kid. Glad he’s honest though. And we all know how cordially and gratuitously the Magic Organization treats its starting players!
“Rafer Alston, thanks for being our guinea p!g and taking us to the Finals. But now Jameer is healthy, so screw off. Yeah, you too Courtney. We said BEAT IT, rookie. You helped us get to the Finals too? Yeah? Well f*ck you then!”

His “hurting” has nothing to do with hoops, Howard and Lee used to sneak into Disney Land on the weekends, and Lee’s p!ssed that all he’s got that’s worth sneaking out to in Jersey is Atlantuic City and that’s not even close to the arena.

Most of the Jets/Gians players live in NY, no? + RJ and Vince lived in Manhattan.

If I had to move to NJ for any reason, I’d be hurting too. At least he can leave there as soon as he’s a free agent. Or he turns into Quintin Richardson.

  • Teddy-the-Bear

Him and D. Harris seems like a nice backcourt, no? I wonder what’s happening with Alston =\.

  • flash

yeah alston is the one who should be upset. orlando was his last chance at competing for a ring and now he’s back to zero with a rebuilding jersey squad

New Jersey is very nice. It has 4 seasons. You can find great skiing and great surfing within 1-3 hrs (the farther, the nicer the snow/surf). It pretends to be liberal, but is much more conservative. Public education ranks high, and many of the country’s top ranked places to live are in North Jersey.

Maybe Dwight’s rogue elbows won’t bother him no more.

Skip actually was happy about being home, or at least said as much when he was first traded over there, to put a silver lining on it. Don’t get Marbur(y)ied!
Imagine Big Baby if he somehow got on the Magic team too, Dwight’s Big Big BIG little brother? (& like Moose said, he’d probably be asking to go to DisneyWorld like everyday too, Big Baby + Big Mickey ears, pushing kids out the way to grab his own!)

  • Yesse

Can’t blame him.I would be sad too.

  • Jess

It’s all about differing mentalities, Cavs fan. Orlando wants to win as soon as possible, and they need a replacement for Hedo, which Carter is capable of being. The Nets, in contrast, want to build themselves into a quality team, so they’ll happily trade aging past-his-prime-Hall of Fame talent for young might even become an All-Star talent. As for Rafer, I think his occasional inconsistency bothered them, so they searched for a replacement. Orlando has Jason Williams now. The Magic also landed Ryan Anderson, who they wanted ahead of Courtney Lee.
