Derrick Rose Has Lofty Goals

Look out, ‘Bron, Kob, and CP-3. D-Rose wants that top ranking in the L: “What are the expectations you’ve put on yourself for the 2009-10 season? DR: To be the best player in the league at my position, and hopefully be the best player in the NBA. There’s no point of playing basketball if you don’t want to be the best — or doing anything if you don’t want to be the best. So that’s my goal for next season.”

Yeah D-Rose gunnin’ for that number 1 spot!!!

  • The Coach

He does have the work ethic, but it seems to me that he goes in and out of stages on confidence. ( I know he is young ) So hopefully next year he can realize not many guards are on his level and go at them, instead of passsivness that he often showed last year. Get Tyrus in the gym with you..our version of CP3 and Chandler..or Nash and Amare..if Tyrus would work..

If he said it in his same humble, 6 inch voice tone, then no it wasn’t anything more than it is on paper and exactly what he said it was.

Marbury almost did the same quote before, but said he is the best, because you have to think you are. Why not have unwavering confidence in yourself. Then he got blasted for “best?!!? wut is this dude think he’s Kobe?!!” And Kobe isn’t even a Point Guard. And Kobe fans recite truck commercial jingles, “Simply the best, better than all the rest…”

subway, don’t believe the headline hype… Kobe and Bron do not play his position. You want him not to hope to be the best player in the NBA eventually?

  • ENDS

He’s good as long as there are no writen/long answer question test

I agree that at times when Drose struggles he seems to lose confidence and defers to his team, mainly Ben gordon who was happy to fire away in the playoffs. On the flip side, drose is young and this will probably go away with maturity once he realizes how talented he really is combined with his amazing athleticism…really defence and playmaking skills maybe all that is keeping him from being the number one point guard…and shooting, which is improving…

Well, last year he said he wanted to be MVP and he ended up being ROY so maybe if he guns for the throne he’ll end up at least being the best pg in the land. If you don’t think his name is already in the CP3/Deron debate then your playing yourself.

@Brad, I like what he can do, but no, his name is not in that debate just yet.
