Knicks to Take a Look at Jerry Stackhouse

Jerry is getting killed by the local media, even before getting the job with the Knicks: “In the leave-no-stone-unturned department, the Knicks will host washed-up veteran shooting guard Jerry Stackhouse for a workout today at their Westchester compound, according to a team official. Team president Donnie Walsh, overseeing a tedious free-agency period in which they have yet to make a move through 36 days, is trying to enhance both the point guard and shooting-guard positions.”

    Stack was my dude on NBA2K for Dreamcast. Hes also the only guys in can think of that has multipul notable blocks on VC in his prime.

    For starters Stackhouse has been unactive for quite some time I dont think they should pick him up just to waste money, I think they should save more money for 2010 because a lot of players are on the market like LeBron.

    The Knicks probably can find roughly 500 guys in the five boroughs that would be willing to sign for the league minimum and could school Stack on a regular basis. What’s the real?

    My folks moved me to the NY area when I was sixteen… so Im kind of an outsider here, and as a third party, it seems like the press speculates on virtually every conceivable move, praises the teams one day, and then kills them the next for the same moves, and everyone takes sports way too serious… also, there’s kids on several playgrounds right now that could shammgod stack and dunk on him- but they would probably kill an organized team-… I dont know, its crazy here. fans, media, expectations… please sign AI knicks

    Plus how do you think a team with AI, Harrington and Hughes would fit?! In order to get them their touches theyll need to play with 3 balls… In this case Stack over AI – but id still go with Sessions!

    In 2007-08 AI went for 26.4 points, 7.1 assists, 2.o steals, played 82 games, shared the ball with Carmelo Anthony, and shot .458 from the field in the western conference (knicks play in the minor league eastern conference)… its not his fault the best big guy he ever played with was Dikembe Mutumbo in 2001- went to the finals that year and stole a game from Kobe and Shaq by the way

    Sessions is probably a pretty good move. he’s not a legend (like Iverson IS- you guys are just HATERS with no game) and he won’t ever be an all star, but he’s young and maybe he could be a good fit in D’Antoni’s system. Stack should have a job in the league, but why commit any long term money to him? its the Knicks, they’re probably f’ed no matter what they do

    I agree with Z, stacks a good fit as a roleplayer on a vet squad… don’t like him as a bad contract on a garbage squad… Stack had some good years but career shooting for stackhouse? try .409 and .306 from three (Iverson .425 and .313)

    Felix: But youll forget, that Denver had a damn packed roster, so people thought they should be contending! From that kind of view they were really REALLY disappointing… Im not gonna blaim that on AI, but surely he had his prime before, or otherwise he would have lead denver to the finals… cause thats what people expected and what he was supposed to do!

    Just another bad move by the Knicks. Always getting players too late in their career. Please give us Knick fans some relief. To respond to Felix real quick, A.I. will never be that guy,and although Denver had a damn good roster when he was there, without that big presence somewhere, they refused to be great!
