    So, D-Wade Bought a Home in Chicago

    It’s not uncommon for sports stars to own multiple residences, in various cities across the country. In this day and age, however, every little move (and transaction) is scrutinized and mined endlessly for meaning or clues.

    Welcome to Dwyane Wade’s life.

    Wade recently purchased a luxury townhouse in Chicago, the city where he was born, leading some media members to wonder aloud if this is a hint about Dwyane’s free agent intentions next summer. Here’s the immortal Sam Smith on the case:

    Has Dwyane Wade purchased his Chicago dream house as a prelude to signing a free agent contract with the Bulls next summer? Or is Wade just a clever real estate speculator at a good time? Prying eyes want to know. And at least basketball franchises in Chicago and Miami.

    You never can say never with NBA players since Wade should be earning at least $17 million a season once he signs an extension or leaves as a free agent. So then what’s a little $1.4 million second (or third) home? The list price was $1.7 million. But this certainly is something to give one—or many—pause of given Wade’s fairly open questioning of Miami’s rebuilding plan and recent disappointment despite Wade’s obvious lobbying to steal Lamar Odom away from the Lakers.

    Of course, what’s largely glossed over in the linked piece is that Miami is the team that can offer D-Wade the most money once he becomes a free agent, something I’m inclined to think will play a not-so minor role in his decision.

    I hope LeBron buys a mansion in Utah next week, just to screw with everyone’s heads.

      so he works out all summer in chicago and it’s crazy for him to have his own place so he doesn’t have to stay with his fam or in a hotel there when he’s there. I don’t get it. and the difference in supporting cast of chicago and miami isn’t that big. it’s about michel beasley for miami… last I checked the only thing in his game that grew is an afro on his head… you’ll see

      what a crock. sam smith is just tryna make headlines.
      wade spends most of his offseason in chicago anyway and it would be a mistake for him to play there anyway.
      him and d-rose have a similar perimeter game and miami are on their way up anyway it may take a season or two that’s all

      Rose and Wade play too much alike because their role is both to dominate the ball. If you don’t think Rose and Wade can alter their games and play together and be that much better, you got some things to think over.

      Jukai, I have to respectfully disagree, bro. I don’t think Rose dominates the ball at all. If anything, most of us Bulls fans wish he would. It ain’t like we’re talking about a D. Wade/Ben Gordon backcourt. Rose is a true PG. If Rose and Wade played together, Wade would get his 25+ per game, Rose would average at least 8 assists per, and both would do it with a smile on their faces. Well, maybe not Rose, but he’d be happy on the inside. Of course, I said I’m a Bulls fan, which means I NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS believe Wade will play for the Chi. There’s a better chance Ron Mercer will come out of retirement just so we can throw cash at him that was meant for some superstar/savior YET AGAIN.

      Wade as been in the league for a while now and he has had money for a while now. But all of a sudden he is buying a home in Chicago. what? he couldn’t afford a “townhouse” before. i’m not saying he is for sure coming to chicago but……..idk.
