A Look at the Rockets’ New Uniforms

Houston, presumably in an effort to rekindle memories of past glory, is going old school with their new duds: “The red color is not quite the same as their other jerseys and the fabric has a different look and feel. Rockets center Yao Ming likes the Rockets new alternate uniform. ‘That looks like an old school uniform, but I like it,’ Yao said. ‘The color and the style and also the material, it feels very good. Sorry I can’t wear it this year, but I can’t wait for next season.”‘

    I appreciate the color scheme going back to the glory days, but the design is just hideous. I hope these go out of style as quick as the Mavericks pewter grey’s did.

    I’m with Brad, they should have gone back to the originals as they’re pretty similar anyway. But these new ones are definitely better than their last.

    The font on that jersey looks absolutely terrible…Aside from the McDonalds/China coloring, the rest isn’t too bad.

    i think it is a very good move to get The Dream’s colours back. especially since Atlanta bailed on the colour scheme too. But really, what do people expect from NBA designers these days? New Bobcats? No. Mavs alternate? No. Thunder? Oh no! At least Philly understood it wasn’t worth paying for a “new” design.

    I actually like these. The color scheme reminds me of the 1950′s. Much better than the shiny ones. Im wondering if Gerwin has actually ever seen a WNBA jersey, because these look nothing like it.

    There’s nothing wrong with retro-ing it ALL the way back to, you know, nice looking uni’s. Not this half-hearted, full-on Chinese McDonald’s look.

    i guess it’s a coincidence that the colors are the same as china’s. in any case, these things are disgusting. i get that new jerseys mean more revenue, but ugh. i’d rather see the pajamas again.
