No Signing in Grizzly A.I. Saga Yet

The good news is that the meeting went well, the bad news is that there isn’t anything too concrete to report on yet. Sigh: “Grizzlies owner Michael Heisley met with Allen Iverson Monday night in Atlanta where the sides came away with a better understanding of what the other expects yet no deal was finalized. But the frank, comfortable and friendly meeting went so well that Iverson could agree to a deal as soon as Tuesday, according to a source familiar with the discussions. Heisley, general manager Chris Wallace and head coach Lionel Hollins spent more than two hours with Iverson. Most of their conversations were about the Grizzlies’ philosophy and how they intend to use Iverson. There were no specific contract talks although Memphis wants Iverson on a one-year deal that pays $3.5 million.”

The Grizzlies have a philosophy? It must be called chaos theory.

The Grizzles need to be committed, and Allen needs to be ready to lead. That is the bottom line. They have interesting pieces there, but they have to have an instinct as killer as Allens determination, otherwise they won’t win. Day one if he signs, get that team together on your own, and speak from the heart. Then go out there everyday and show what you mean. I’m talking about practice. Inspire them Allen. I promise you the league and the haters will see. They ignore your stats because it makes them look dumb, but go win then it will look like you were always a winner…Which in all honesty you have done in your life…Against the odds. 5’11 and great…Not 6’6. I wonder how many make it like you? That’s why you gotta go out right, and fuck what everyone else says.

The Kingslayer, as much as your posts are PURE AMMO for the haters, one can only respect how indelibly affected u r by AI’s legacy…I feel like you’re narrating the next Reebok commercial…and it’s great.

Charlotte should sign Iverson because even if it does all blow up in their face they’re freaking Charlotte and they can’t end up much worse off. At least in the meantime someone will give a crap about them while A.I. is there, especially for the Larry Brown thing. Then the Griz can sign Felton and they don’t have to worry about their best PG being Mike Conley any more. The development of OJ Mayo and Rudy Gay will also remain unstunted because AI won’t be there ‘proving the haters wrong’ and jacking all night. He still hasn’t indicated he’s ready to accept a reduced role on any team (if not the perennially loaded Pistons then definitely not the mess that is the Grizzlies) so this is all I can imagine him doing.
