  SECOND HAND SMOKE IS A JOKE. Ask the anti-tobacco folks to tell you what truly is in second hand smoke…when it burns from the coal its oxygenated and everything is burned and turned into water vapor………………thats right water……….you ever burned leaves in the fall…know how the heavy smoke bellows off…….thats the organic material releasing the moisture in the leaves the greener the leaves/organic material the more smoke thats made……thats why second hand smoke is classified as a class 3 irritant by osha and epa as of 2006……..after that time EPA decided to change the listing of shs as a carcinogen for political reasons…….because it contained a trace amount of 6 chemicals so small even sophisticated scientific equipment can hardly detect it ……..they didnt however use the normal dose makes the poison computation when they made this political decision. However osha still maintains shs/ets as an irritant only and maintains the dose makes the poison position…….as osha is in charge of indoor air quality its decisions are based on science not political agendas as epa’s is. We can see this is true after a federal judge threw out the epa’s study on shs as junk science……… Wednesday, March 12, 2008 British Medical Journal & WHO conclude secondhand smoke “health hazard” claims are greatly exaggerated The BMJ published report at: http://www.bmj.com/cgi/content/full/326/7398/1057 concludes that “The results do not support a causal relation between environmental tobacco smoke and tobacco related mortality. The association between exposure to environmental tobacco smoke and coronary heart disease and lung cancer are considerably weaker than generally believed.” What makes this study so significant is that it took place over a 39 year period, and studied the results of non-smokers who lived with smokers….. meaning these non-smokers were exposed to secondhand smoke up to 24 hours per day; 365 days per year for 39 years. And there was still no relation between environmental tobacco smoke and tobacco related mortality. In light of the damage to business, jobs, and the economy from smoking bans the BMJ report should be revisited by lawmakers as a reference tool and justification to repeal the now unnecessary and very damaging smoking ban laws. Also significant is the World Health Organization (WHO) study: Passive smoking doesn’t cause cancer-official By Victoria Macdonald, Health Correspondent ” The results are consistent with their being no additional risk for a person living or working with a smoker and could be consistent with passive smoke having a protective effect against lung cancer. The summary, seen by The Telegraph, also states: ‘There was no association between lung cancer risk and ETS exposure during childhood.’ ” And if lawmakers need additional real world data to further highlight the need to eliminate these onerous and arbitrary laws, air quality testing by Johns Hopkins University proves that secondhand smoke is up to 25,000 times SAFER than occupational (OSHA) workplace regulations. The Chemistry of Secondary Smoke About 94% of secondary smoke is composed of water vapor and ordinary air with a slight excess of carbon dioxide. Another 3 % is carbon monoxide. The last 3 % contains the rest of the 4,000 or so chemicals supposedly to be found in smoke… but found, obviously, in very small quantities if at all.This is because most of the assumed chemicals have never actually been found in secondhand smoke. (1989 Report of the Surgeon General p. 80). Most of these chemicals can only be found in quantities measured in nanograms, picograms and femtograms. Many cannot even be detected in these amounts: their presence is simply theorized rather than measured. To bring those quantities into a real world perspective, take a saltshaker and shake out a few grains of salt. A single grain of that salt will weigh in the ballpark of 100 million picograms!   second hand smoke is not a joke. if first hand smoke through a filter causes cancer (which it does because tobacco has naturally occuring carcinogens) then second hand smoke( the smoke that comes out the end of the cigarette/cigar) without the filter has even more!

  Well, since no one has the ability to remember obscure quotes and link to tobacco studies in the 20 minutes between the 1st and 3rd posts, I’m gonna go ahead and assume that the mammoth post was saved up by some clever fella waiting on tobacco based RSS feeds to spread his cheer. Dude clearly works for some sort of smoking advocacy or lobby group, if not directly for a tobacco company. The real issue here is how is Jordan going to show off that he’s richer than every one else without the stogie? I guess he could wear a monocol or something.

  Introduction On September, 9th 2009 Barack Obama addressed the joint session of congress regarding the health care system in the United States of America .He revealed the many aspects of his health care proposal including, goals, details of the health care plan ,and how this health care plan will be paid for. President also addressed some controversies that involve the impending health care reform. In this paper I will assess the various elements of the president’s proposal, and compare the current US health care system with the health care systems in other industrialized countries. President began his speech reminding the viewers that full recovery is still many months away, but we must stay persistent. He also acknowledged the hardships that people without health care endure, stating the United States is the only democratic nation that allows hardships for their citizens. President Obama believes that building on what works and fixing what doesn’t, is more efficient than building a new system from scratch. Goal for Health Care Barack Obama set three standard goals for his health care proposal. First, to provide more security and stability for those with health care insurance. Secondly, to provide basic health insurance for Americans that currently doesn’t have health insurance. Lastly, to slow the growth of health care cost for families, small businesses and the government. President Obama encouraged everyone to take responsibility for meeting these goals. Details of the health care plan Americans with health insurance President Obama assured the viewers that those who have health insurance through Medicare, Medicaid, employers, or V.A will not have to change the coverage of the doctor they have under his health care plan. Barack Obama is also revealed some laws he will be implementing to keep insurance companies accountable. It will be illegal for insurance companies to deny coverage due to a pre-existing condition. It will also be against the law for insurance companies to drop or “water down” coverage when an individual becomes ill. President Obama also noted that there will no longer be an arbitrary cap on how much coverage you can receive. There will also be a limit on how much an individual can be charged for out of pocket expenses. President Obama wraps up his portion of the health care plan stating that, “In the United States of America , no one should go broke because they get sick”. Americans without health insurance Barack Obama plans on offering affordable choices for non-insured Americans, creating a new insurance exchange. This insurance exchange allows people to bargain with insurance companies for better coverage. If unable to afford discounted coverage the President plans on allowing tax credits which size will depend on the individuals need. This exchange will take effect in four years ,as for now there will be low cost coverage available that will help Americans avoid financial ruin if they get seriously ill. The President states that, “If everyone doesn’t do their part, the healthcare reform will not be achieved”. This is why President is making it a requirement to have a basic form of health insurance. President Obama is also making it a requirement for businesses to supply health insurance for their employees or to at least “chip in”. There will be a hardship waiver that allows 95% of small businesses to be exempt from the health care requirement. Key Controversies of health care reform President Obama addressed the major misconceptions and controversies revolving around his new health care proposal. He informed the readers that although many radio hosts and rival politicians claim that there is going to be an assembly of bureaucrats with the power to kill off senior citizens, that the accusation is false. The President stated that, “Such a charge would be laughable if it were not so cynical and irresponsible”. Barack Obama also put to rest accusations that the health care reform would insure illegal immigrants. President Obama also stated that no federal dollars will be used to fund abortions and that federal conscience laws will still be enforced.
  Paying for the Health Care plan
  President Obama revealed to the joint session of congress the techniques he will use to pay for his health care reform. The President assured the viewers that he will not sign a plan that adds money to the nation’s deficits. Most of the plan will be paid for by finding savings and reducing inefficiencies within the current healthcare system. President Obama claims that his healthcare proposal will cost around 900 million dollars over the next ten years, which is less money spent on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
  Personal Opinions on the Healthcare proposal
  I am very fond of President Obama’s health care proposal. I believe that the Presidents main focus was stopping the corruption and injustice within insurance companies. This can be shown by the President implementing laws that will stop insurance companies dropping, decreasing and overcharging coverage for customers. I also agree with President Obama’s plans to create a new insurance exchange to enable Americans to negotiate with insurance companies for better coverage. I believe that this exchange will allow Americans who make too much for Medicaid, but can’t afford insurance be able to get quality health insurance. Although I believe that President Obama’s plan isn’t perfect, I believe it is a very large step in the right direction.
  Comparing the current Healthcare system with other industrialized countries
  Americans spend an average of $7,290 a year on health care which is almost double the amount other industrialized countries .To put things in perspective, the average Finland citizen pays a total of $2,104 a year on healthcare. What tends to confuse many people is the fact that although Americans are paying almost twice as much as their international counterparts, the United States suffers from the most preventable deaths and lowers life expectancy.

  Hey, don’t assume he works for a tobacco company. A lot of people invest a LOT of energy in building up these fantasies to protect their psychological well-being. Some folks just can’t justify their own selfish behaviour, so they construct big conspiracies to justify it for them. Like, “I’m not evil because I smoke, in fact it’s scientifically proven that smokes is GOOD for you, but the 1971 Congress bill suppressed the information! So there, I’m NOT evil!”

  The status quo should change so if someone blows smoke in your face, they’d get an immediate raspberry spit in return. I mean, only one of those really potentially kills you, so being mad at getting spit on would be insane (VH1 shows on fights about the spitting - that you don’t do would still be around).
