Dwight Howard: Spitter

Superman has a nasty habit: “You learn something new every NBA game. On Saturday night, I learned that Dwight Howard spits on the ball. Every time a Warriors player went to the line to shoot two, after the first free-throw try, the Orlando Magic’s massive center asked the ref for the ball, spit on it and flipped it back to the ref. Seriously. ‘I’m just blowing on it,’ Howard fibbed with a smile when I asked him about it after the game. ‘I’m putting a spell on them.”‘

Eeeew that’s germy. Same thing when Steve Nash licks his fingers and then touches the basketball. Alot of germs for sure.

    LAME.

  • Torrance Posted: Dec.8 at 10:34 am
Why would the ref give him the ball in the first place?

  • German Reignman Posted: Dec.8 at 10:42 am
Because he is Dwight Howard and could rip the ref apart ?

i lick my fingers too when playin ball…so what? in todays society, everyone is becoming a germaphobe. thats why so many young people get allergies and get sick so easily because they are so used to clean hygenic environments…. a little dust dirt and spit never hurt to build up your immune system….otherwise sooner or later everyone is gonna end up like bubble boy.

    Nerd.

  • UnRel Posted: Dec.8 at 12:09 pm
it’s one thing to lick your fingers and play on.. but to spit on the ball to deliberately “put a spell”.. that’s stupid.. even UFC fighters don’t spit at eachother on purpose..

  • snasty10 Posted: Dec.8 at 2:17 pm
i hate when people lick their fingers, especially when there isnt any need for it.

  • 360vue Posted: Dec.8 at 2:36 pm
Buschfiya hit the nail on the head about immune systems but there is a difference between dirt/muck and bodily fluids. No-one wants/needs that. I happily defend Dwight from his detractors but sh!tttt no need for this retard habit.

The immune system is a odd mechanism. The imbalance to it can cause it to either suppress or overreact. No matter if your exposed to alot of germs, bacteria, viruses or not you CAN NOT avoid allergies because allergies are like a mild form of autoimmunity. People with suppressed or weak immune system should limit any kind of over exposure to foreign invaders to the body because a weak or overractive immune system is either to weak to distuguish between the bad guys and the good guy therefore allowing whatever foreign invader to destroy whatever cell it wants, or if the foreign invader resemble the good positive say RNA in the body the overactive immune system becomes confused attacks it and the good natural cells our body needs therefore making one ill a la lupus.
So exposure to germs or other outside invaders isn’t good for the immune over all.Spreading germs and licking your fingers after touching something that’s been on the floor and on some of everyone’s hands is GROSS!!

Now that bad hygiene.I know players lick their fingers and Kobe puts his sweat on his fingers, but this is just way out of the line.

  • Buschfiya Posted: Dec.9 at 9:17 am
Idunno Nya, I’ve always had pretty bad allergies to dogs and cats and a lot of my good friends own dogs and cats, lately I’ve been spending a lot of time with them then before and I notice my reaction to these animals has been signifcantly less reactive then what reactions my body used to have when I didn’t hang around these pets…

  • Buschfiya Posted: Dec.9 at 9:22 am
on another note sure its gross, but do you know how much sweat and dirt are on that ball already? when i play ball I’m always wiping sweat off my forehead and right after touching the ball, its all bodily fluids, spit sweat…all gross same differnce? play ball and deal with it people.
